WMDs Found in Iraq Posted Nov 9, 2005

Contrary to ongoing reports by mainstream media outlets, WMDs have been found in Iraq, so reports New York Times best-selling author Richard Miniter in his new book, Disinformation.

Consider these shocking facts:

• Found: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium

• Found: 1,500 gallons of chemical weapons

• Found: Roadside bomb loaded with sarin gas

• Found: 1,000 radioactive materials--ideal for radioactive dirty bombs

• Found: 17 chemical warheads--some containing cyclosarin, a nerve agent five times more powerful than sarin

... not to mention the stuff that needs to be found in Syria. Buys time for that too.

"What, these don't count?"

Not with the left or MSM. The only thing they would accept would be a row of gleaming nuclear tipped ICBMs and I'm not 100% sure of that.

Norman Podhoretz wrote a good piece linked below showing how any statement of the President on Iraq is portrayed as a lie, when in fact it is the portrayal that is the lie.

Who Is Lying About Iraq?

They overlook massive truck traffic to Syria prior to the war, when nothing other than tranfer of proscribed materials could explain the traffic.

And just to make sure that Dimocrats don't claim that his is somehow just a GOP version of the facts, they might want to check the 9/11 Commission testimony of one Patrick Fitzgerald who stated that in his investigation into the blind sheik he had uncovered evidence of contacts between Saddam and Al Qaeda and believed that they were trying to come up with some operations against us. Somehow, the Dims want to deny reality.

The MSM immediately upon these WMD being found in Iraq dismissed them as not being "stockpiles." If you were Bush wouldn't you eventually give up trying to make liars tell the truth. They won't do it.

Bush does not have decades of goodwill built up by appearing on Death Valley Days and in the movies. So if I am Bush, I serve out my term doing what I think is right and see what history has to say confident history will judge the economy and foreign policy were sound during my terms.

Apparently a metric ton of WMD is not a 'stockpile' technically. I suppose we still need to apologize to Phil Donohue and Cindy Sheehan since we didn't find the entire 10,000 tons.

I believe the same thing, and know for a fact that much of our successes in the GWOT are never discussed in the media due to National Security issues. However, our GOP leadership that is aware of such issues need to start smacking the Rats down or they will pay a political price for their silence. If the leadership changes the Rats will be the first to claim success at every opportunity no matter what the impact on National Security is... There has to be a way... Hence the WH PR dillema.

Correct. The thread was pulled, then reinstated. Originally, I added the WOT topic to the list of topics. It disappeared, I added it again, thinking it was "broke" ;). I get it now. And am glad it's back.

The 'stockpile' problem is another misnomer. Chemical and Bio agents are not the sorts of things that you'd ever want to have a very large amount pre-made at any one time. There are shelf-life issues, but more to the point they have some genuinely non-trivial management and logistics issues. It is most definitely not like storing ordinary high explosives.

Most of the time, you'd prefer to have only a relatively small amount ready to use, and make more as you need it. A little bit goes an extraordinarily long way, and replenishing is quick and easy.

I cringe every time I see Scott McClellen.

The White House is dropping the ball on countering media lies at every turn. If the future of our nation wasn't on the line, it wouldn't be such a big deal. But, it is.

I love this President. But I hate what he's letting these lying bastards do to this country.

You got it exactly right. That's the reason Hillary is acting like such a hawk. She's going to finish this job and win the war, with full media support. Then she's going to spend that political capital on turning America into the socialist utopia of her collegiate dreams.

Just like FDR.

It's so obvious, it's frightening.

They do. Even the military is p.o'd that there isn't a consistant message coming from the Pres. The Communications Office needs to do some reassessment of their communications plan.

I think that is a good hypothesis...one has to wonder, WHERE DID THEY GO?? I've been wondering it and frustrated with the hit the adminstration is taking.

The MSM is really dropping the ball on this and it shows they're just lazy--they'll only investigate when it's in their interest. For being suspicious of the current admin, they sure do trust them on this issue re: "I guess we were wrong..."

I'm certain the Today show with Katie Couric will bring Mr. Miniter on for an interview. < \horsecrap>

Unfortunately, to Liberals, Pacifists, America-Haters and Appeasers (Which pretty much encompasses the entire left side of the political spectrum) there is no reason to fight...ever. Which explains why they are always cutting military spending.

They think the job of the President is to safeguard the lives of our military. Conservatives generally understand that the job of the military is to safeguard the lives of our citizens as a tool of national policy.

An excellent point. And, I like the way you casually refer to "ordinary" high explosives. I tend to treat 'em that way, too. /smile

I agree except for one thing. We HAVE to stop talking as though a Hillary presidency is inevitable. It isn't. Talking as though it is only helps her.
