Yes, even Rush has said before that when the baby boomers get old, they will use their vote to selfishly benefit themselves. Meanwhile I wouldn't be surprised if generation X starts to believe in euthanasia...

The national debt was caused by living generations and IMO as massive wealth passes through deaths of the baby boomers, the death tax should stay in place and the hundreds of billions collected should be earmarked for their national debt.

Not a bad idea on the surface – except for the double taxation thing. I can say that because I doubt I will have much of an estate to leave to my daughter.

"Meanwhile I wouldn't be surprised if generation X starts to believe in euthanasia..."

The boomers killed a lot of their kids, but the Gen Xs were allowed to live. Payback? And how far back?

For about three years now, I have believed that I will not die a natural death. "Duty to die" has been discussed on this forum before.

I'm one of the evil ones. I'm 55.

Interesting comment.

Do you have much faith this money would actually be earmarked for such a purpose -- the proverbial "lock box".

Your childlike faith in the government's ability to spend my money wisely is touching.

Here's a radical idea... make the boomers pay for their own damn retirements with all that capital they've had their entire lifetimes to build, and stop stealing from their children and their childrens' children and the generations beyond that.

And the ones who can't afford to? Let other boomers support them.

It will be forced euthanasia for the generation which approved abortion. All those dead babies could have been financially supporting the old.

As far as I knew growing up I came from a Conservative family. My stepdad even voted along Republican lines. Imagine my surprise in 2000 when I found out he was voting for Al Gore. Why? He was concerned about his Social Security and disability benefits. During that whole election fiasco his response was, "Since he's complaining about it, they should just give the presidency to Al Gore and be done with it."
