Pat Robertson has a message for Dover, PA: Don't ask God to help.

DOVER, Pa. -- Pat Robertson had a special message for residents of Dover, Pa., today after voters there elected to boot the current school board, which instituted an intelligent design policy that led to a federal trial.

Robertson made the comment after Lee Webb of CBN News delivered a report on how residents in Dover voted in eight new Democratic board members, replacing all eight current members who had voted for a policy that required students in ninth-grade biology classes to hear a statement on intelligent design before hearing lessons on evolution. Webb then asked Robertson what he thought about the vote.

Here was Robertson's response.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected him from your city. And don't wonder why he hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for his help because he might not be there."

Robertson may have a point. This year Kansas voted in ID, and then KU beat Nebraska. Offhand, I can't think of a bigger miracle.

Teaching evolution as the 'Origin of Life' is spitting in God's eye. Have you read your Bible lately?

Evolution does not address the origin of life. Have you read a science text lately?

Apparently more people hate America than just Pat Robertson.

Good thing this ID biz isn't about religion or anything...

Yes. I was beginning to agree with the ID folks that ID has nothing to do with religion or God, but then Pat goes and clears things up for me.

I hope for Pat's sake, God agrees with him. But I wouldn't be too sure of it.

Moses was a true prophet of Israel and God. Pat isn't, and the Bible has plenty to say about false prophets and those who wrongly presume to speak for God.

" Pat isn't, and the Bible has plenty to say about false prophets and those who wrongly presume to speak for God."

Yes it does.

It also says "Judge not lest ye be judged"

So who would be wrong in this case? Pat or anyone bashing him?

Do I believe that Pat speaks for God?

Don't know. But neither does anyone else.

Well if Pat prays a hurricane away from Virginia and smack dab into Dover then I'll believe that he's speaking for the Almighty. Until then he's just another looney tune.

It is because of love that parents discipline their children. It is hate if parents do nothing while a child ruins their future.

Now substitute God for parents and America for child.

The American people need to wake up for their own sake.

Revision

This line:"Do I believe that Pat speaks for God? " Should be:

"Does Pat speak for God".

Just for continutity to the arguement.

ANYONE who hates America so much that they say we 'deserved' 9/11 is cordially invited to get the ---- out of our country. That includes Pat Robertson and all other traitors who agree with him.

They can be replaced by honest immigrants. It will be an improvement.

the individual vote margins for each of the precailing candidates was not really all that great. Turnout seemed to be low and the victors pretty much ran as a group.

Won't it be ironic if the school board prevails at trial?

Based on the evidence, they should; but I wouldn't bet on it.

Pat's God is a vengeful ninth-grader.

Tell that to Sodom and Gomorrah and Lots Wife!
