While President Bush has tumbled in the polls, he still retains support among America's military veterans. Sixty-percent (60%) of Veterans approve of the way the President is performing his job, including 30% who Strongly Approve.

Today's speech should be just the start of campaign to go around the anti-military media and liberals in Congress.
"As our troops fight a ruthless enemy determined to destroy our way of life, they deserve to know that their elected leaders who voted to send them to war continue to stand behind them," the president said. "Our troops deserve to know that this support will remain firm when the going gets tough. And our troops deserve to know that, whatever our differences in Washington, our will is strong, our nation is united and we will settle for nothing less than victory."
2. Most (though not all) Veterans are of sound mind and character, moreso than the general population.
3. Much of the disapproval of Bush comes from WOMEN.
Follow-up is the key here. The GOP needs to keep hitting and hitting hard.
We need to be much stronger in our support for the troops.
I've long said that the 19th Amendment was a bad idea.
'W' stills scores in the high 90s in polls conducted among the 4 veterans in my family. But even given that none of us intends on voting for him again in '08.
Whether anatomically so or not.
I am a woman and I agree with you 100%! Thirty second soundbite my the media is all it takes for some of these women.
Maybe what some of the pollsters should do is poll in flyover country instead of ignoring us -- they might get a surprise that the President is respected in this part of the Country for what he has been doing.
Now that he is going after the RATs, they will never poll out here. About the only complaint that I keep hearing is his lack of going after the RATs and their lies.
Doubt if they will poll us on Hillary either -- she is one of the best fundraisers for Republicans in flyover country.
"....none of us intends to vote for him again in '08."
LOL
Let's change the law as it was when FDR was elected four times. Then, you and your family will be able to vote for him in '08, '12, '16 ad infinitum.
It's a shame not being able to retain a great president as Pres. Bush.
Hell yeah include me in that 60%. Too bad liberals dont have jobs (besides selling beads and hemp products at county fairs) so they have all day to protest and be on tv. I guess us military folks are too damn busy fighting for freedom and democracy around the world. "Anytime, anywhere, for whoever needs help".

Any access to the breakdown? Wanna bet the 60% is "Excellent" and "Good" and "Fair" gets lumped in with "Poor"?
4 Veterans in my immediate family still living. We support Bush 100%.
