Too many people are driven by polls, not principles.
Didn't W only give a speech on Monday afternoon/night? Kilgore already trailed 5-6 points per most polls. What could W do in a matter of hours?
It seems as if Santorum has had his brain removed and replaced with oatmeal lately.
The Democrats do not have to do President Bush in.
The Republicans will do the job themselves.
When I was younger an old man I was working with said to me when we were redoing a job someone else had messed up: "Son, they said that it would be easy to straighten this up but there is an old saying that everyone always knows how to wrestle the bear except the man thats got him by the tail."
Saw his poll numbers and did the U turn. They're all alike. No point in kidding ourselves.
Rick is scared to death of losing his seat, he is going spectorish.
My guess is this quote is taken wildly out of context. The MSM has no lovbe of Santorum and will do everything to defeat him.
Did I miss something here? Did he divert from the generalization of remarks, which are purely political, and explain exactly what the mistakes were?
Certainly, mistakes were made, Santorum said of the wars conduct. But thats a criticism you can make of every conflict. This looks to be a perfectly reasonable comment that is being misrepresented by the AP for the sake of manufacturing friction, something that is a favorite pastime of theirs.
This statement justifies a headline of:
Santorum Critical Of Bush, War In Iraq
?????
Note the only other quote in the article:
The media only report the death toll, Santorum said. While conceding that is a piece of the story, he questioned how the public would have felt about World War II if the media had reported only the body count and not news of cities liberated by the Allies.
...which is absolutely correct.
You've got to be a bit careful letting AP spin your head.
And going left is why you are losing even your conservative base in Penn.
I don't understand the logic. He is down in the polls so he further alienates his core base. Brilliant strategy. Bye Rick.
The one quote that this article uses doesn't sound all that critical of Bush to me. Methinks there's some distortion here on the part of the writer.
Well as usual the Headline is EXACTLY the opposed of the facts of what is said. I guess I find it hard to defend these Republican Senators. They ought to know better then to try and be reasonable with these butt clowns in the Dinosaur Media. Anything the Republican says is going to be misquoted and misrepresented by these DNC stooges in the Dinosaur media.
