Why don't these people stop waiting for the government to baby them and just take care of themselves?

That depends. Do you know if there are stores open where they can get what they need? Or are stores wiped out by the hurricane too?

I'm not going to judge these people as the article gave little info on the circumstances.

Exactly. Its easy to judge from the comfort of ones non hurricane devastated armachair.

And hey, Wilma happened a good long time ago. Its time the relief agencies were able to get some sort of an act together!

It doesn't matter.....it was a money giveaway.....not food.....I read the full article...
