This is a repeat of perhaps the single most insightful speech given to explain and describe the War on Terror.
Every FR reader should have this bookmarked.

The total number of scientific publications of 300 million Arabs is less than that of 6 million Israelis. Yeah....but bombing, burning and killing of innocents takes up a lot of time.

Are you talking about Muslim terrorists killing innocents?
That doesn't take alot of time as the terrorsts represent a microfraction of the larger Muslim population.
What Harari is saying in the quote you referenced is that the Muslim world is stuck in time and is therefore dysfunctional.

There is a new game in town: The actual murderer is called "the military wing", the one who pays him, equips him and sends him is now called "the political wing" Shades of IRA and Sinn Fein and cute cuddly Gerry Adams.

I do not know if the American plan was actually to encircle both Iran and Syria, but that is the resulting situation.Hmmmmmmm......
Good read. I can tell Mr. Harari doesn't have much respect for the complicit Mainstream Mediots. I wonder why.

Dr. Harari's essay is indeed worth reading. I read it again about every 3-6 months.
We have a problem with the media in this country as most FR readers already know and many have known for many many years. I can't say for sure who is winning the propaganda war.
But the problem is so clear when comparing other media with the American media.
Case in point, the Russian news on RTVI was weeks ahead of the U.S. media in reporting the Arab (mostly Algerians) riots in France. And they had no hesitation in describing the 'riots' as organized attacks by Arabs in France.
When I reread Harari, he also predicted France would have its day under terrorism. He was accurate with that forecast and he also went on to say that international law would adjust to the Terrorist's methods. On both RTVI, Israeli news and French news overseas, we see France is deporting, revoking citizenship and carte de sejours of all those arrested and determined to have been involved in the attacks. In the US media, the most that has been said is that France may deport some involved in the 'riots'.
The American media would dare not draw attention to the fact that the French 'riots' are actually organized attacks by Algerian Arabs.
But RTVI reports it like it is and so does Israeli news.
Today we see the techniques of Pravda of the Soviet era utilized by the U.S media.

But before you fight and win, by force or otherwise, you have to realize that you are in a war, and this may take Europe a few more years. In order to win, it is necessary to first eliminate the terrorist regimes, so that no Government in the world will serve as a safe haven for these people. I do not want to comment here on whether the American-led attack on Iraq was justified from the point of view of weapons of mass destruction or any other pre-war argument, but I can look at the post-war map of Western Asia. Now that Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya are out, two and a half terrorist states remain: Iran, Syria and Lebanon, the latter being a Syrian colony. Perhaps Sudan should be added to the list.
As a result of the conquest of Afghanistan and Iraq, both Iran and Syria are now totally surrounded by territories unfriendly to them. Iran is encircled by Afghanistan, by the Gulf States, Iraq and the Moslem republics of the former Soviet Union. Syria is surrounded by Turkey, Iraq, Jordan and Israel. This is a significant strategic change and it applies strong pressure on the terrorist countries. It is not surprising that Iran is so active in trying to incite a Shiite uprising in Iraq. I do not know if the American plan was actually to encircle both Iran and Syria, but that is the resulting situation. If you have not already done so, I encourage everyone to set aside a few minutes to read this speech from start to finish. It's a fascinating, comprehensive review of the Islamofascist war on the civilized world. It's been posted here a few times since it was given in Apr 04. Obviously the Lebanon situation, while not perfect, has improved somewhat. Bookmarking, and urging everyone to share with their acquaintances who are "for the troops, but against the Iraq war."
God bless our troops.

This may be a repost, but I'd never read it before and appreciate the ping. I've saved it to my general war on terror file and just sent it to my e-mail list and encouraged my friends to read it carefully.
He has perfectly nailed the problems in the Muslim world, and the media which reports on suicide bombers as freedom fighters.

Very good- consise, intelligent yet relatively easy-to-comprehend with just enough depth to provide a little clarity in what is so often presented as a foggy situation. What I find especially useful is that these remarks can easily be divided and shared on a point by point basis before tying them all together.
Thanks!
