This is not unpredictable at all...

This is another media hit-and-run job. Pay attention. THE MEDIA WANT HIM DEFEATED, hence they will do all they can to divide and conquer by dividing him from voters and his base. Take with a grain of salt; AP did a smear job on him just yesterday.

If you are a true conservative, you won't be fooled and will understand that:
1) Santorum is a fantastic Senator, of 100 senators in office today, he is easily in the top 10.
2) the media are weasels. I'd even call it an axis of weasels, since they have a conspiracy to distort and defame the good Senator Santorum at every opportunity.
3) There is no way to please everybody on a divisive issue, even one that has little bearing on Federal issues... so undoubtably, the media will dig into such issues and demand Santorum respond, like they did here in an attempt to rattle his cage over Robertson's rather unwise comments about Dover. but it seems Santorum has a reasonable answer on it. Let science lead the way.

I agree that Santorum is better than most, but it's going to take a long time for me to forget that his and Bush's betrayal of Pat Toomey put Arlen Specter back in the Senate.

He has also compromised what I know are his principles a few more times than I would like for the sake of political expediency.

I'll vote for him again but not as enthusiastically as I did the last two times.
