The man accused of randomly shooting and killing a 15 year old girl says he didn't mean to do it.

Stephen Scott, 18, was arrested on Sunday morning.

He's charged with killing an innocent teenager at the James Cayce homes in east Nashville on Saturday night.

Stephen Scott says he was aiming the gun at a man who robbed him earlier.

But the bullet went through an apartment window at the Cayce homes killing 15 year old Denise Brown.

“I didn’t try to shoot that little girl man. I just want everybody to know that man,” said Scott.

Police say Scott fired the shot that killed Brown.

She was inside a friend's house with two other girls getting ready to go to the movies, when the bullet shot through the window killing her.

Police found Scott on Sunday morning after getting some tips on where he may be from people in the neighborhood.

Shortly after his arrest, the 18 year old suspect kept saying he didn't mean to shoot the young girl.

“I just want to tell the family I’m sorry, man. I wish I could take it back. I didn’t mean to,” said Scott.

Scott is in the metro jail, being held without bail on criminal homicide charges.

There's no mention of if he is a concealed carry permit holder or not, but he is being portrayed as such on some of the "other" forums.

well, they'd be:

1. Wrong

and

2. Idiots

Minimum age for CCW in TN is 21.

Suspect is 18.

Game over, man.

If he's 18, it's highly unlikely he would have a permit.

Would someone please speculate motive for me?

Was this guy shooting randomly, or did he target this person? Was he unable to see what he was shooting at?

Speculation is fine, I am clueless

"Stephen Scott says he was aiming the gun at a man who robbed him earlier."
I guess he hunted him down. The teenager was downrange from the intended target.

Why is It that when the police accidentally shoot someone or shoot an innocent by mistake, it's immediately instantly forgiven by many on this forum. There are seldom charges brought.

Was he indeed exercising his constitutional right to protect himself against an aggressor? I don't know... The article isn't clear on that.

It's tragic that an Innocent girl was killed, but that happens every day with the LEO's and nobody says anything except that it was a accident.

You want me to click on a salon web site LOL.

If we had a real war on drugs, all pushers, sellers, mules and manufacturers of illegal drugs should be buried in jail or elsewhere.

They do more harm to dumb adults and children than Moslems.

Drug dealers of all stripes are the scum of America!

I don't think that link proves your statement. Some of those pictures go back 14yrs. If an 'innocent' was getting killed everyday for 14 yrs, there would be over 5,000 of those pictures. Incidentally, at least one of those shots are actually cops killed by druggies. I don't think that works toward your statement either.
