Blowback

It was inevitable that the terror attacks that struck Amman last week would be labeled by Jordanians as their own 9/11. Though straddling the deadly fault lines of the region, Jordan had --until now--been spared, and the Hashemite realm had remained a place which the storms of the region swirled around and somehow, mercifully, bypassed.

By design or default, the wars and contests that played out west of the Jordan River between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and also eastward in Iraq, all broke at the edge of this desert kingdom. And the realm even did well by these furies: Jordan became the buffer state where Iraqis with money hauled out from a burning land waited out their country's ordeal; and where Israelis and Palestinians, and the powers drawn into their affairs, brokered their diplomatic deals. With the attacks on the three Amman hotels on Nov. 9, the country's lucky run appears to have come to an end.

In truth, the tranquility of Jordan was deceptive, secured by a monarchy that has always been more moderate in its temperament than the population it ruled. "Iraqi Insurgent Blamed for Bombings in Jordan" was a headline on the front page of the New York Times of Nov. 13: Not quite! For Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, as his nom de guerre specifies, is a man from the town of Zarqa, a stone's throw from Amman.

Come on, this had nothing to do with politics in the Arab world, it was all about using terror, of killing fellow Muslims, just as in Iraq, in order to gain control.

That, boys and girls, is one of the many things our pals in the media don`t really talk about; Muslims killing innocent Muslims.

Why?

Muslimness is a veneer that covers nationality, ethnicity, and tribes. Underneath they hate everyone but their own cousins and can turn on their own kin in a heartbeat over honor.

You mean these bombers were Muslim? Shocking news, I would have never guessed it, thanks!

What they need is the boring and responsible tenants of sovereignty. Democracies don't tend to terrorism. And by "they" I mean Arab nation states, and by "sovereignty" I mean declared borders and values coupled with protection of the rights of the citizens bound by those borders.

In those countries they flog and jail you for 30 years and then they hang you if you even mention Christ.
Which to me means Satan is well grounded in Islam IMO.

My point is that while the terrorists are killing Muslims (#1 targets are Iraq policeman), the American media, at best, just reports it, but never discuss the why.
That`s the real story of what`s happening there. That and just who are the bombers? Are they Iraq`s? Why are they there?

The non-religious excuse is now that poverty makes them get desperate and do it, not Islam. (See fires in France for referece of BS)

Let me try this again.
Dirty Harry and the boys are saying that the war is against us, while it`s clear that it`s really about terrorism and the terrorists don`t give a darn who they kill. The media is reporting who dies, but never why? Poverty is not why Muslims are killing Muslims

Agreed, poverty is in no way the reason. Poverty will be cited as the reason though and not Islam. They would even report this as Bush's fault before pointing out the radical implications of the truth IMO.

The MSM (and the left) is not interested unless it paints the US and West in a bad light. Ditto Muslims. That's why the genocide in Sudan is okay, no US involvement.
