Mark has a weakness for WAY TOO MUCH caffeine.
That's my view and I'm stickin to it!!!
Actually, we won't have a government surplus... What we'll have is SURPLUS GOVERNMENT!!!
There will always be 100 shades of conservatism. From far right to left of center. Declaring war is counterproductive. Challenging the mantra of the center and center left is far more effective. Plus, there is always a chance, that after being pounded with reality, day after day, they will realize that their blind, partisan loyalty is not serving their personal interests.
I am impressed by the conduct of the calcowgirl account (CCGA). Whether the FairOpinion account, or the Tamsey account, or the GrandpaDave account, the approach is always the same. The CCGA patiently waits until these partisans have had their say. Then the CCGA presents sourced facts and quotes, which differ greatly from the mantra just presented and asks for a reasoned response. After a sufficient time without a reply, the CCGA then politely asks the partisans to put up or shut up. They always shut up.
Republican Party loyalists, especially those from the center on a conservative forum, are at times a real pain in the everyone's side, but always remember:
Treat all with respect but be kind to Republicans for they have the greatest potential to become conservatives.
If we can force a primary on the RP side, I'm all for it. If we can't it will be a wasted effort.
With an attitude like that, no one, but then, I'm somewhat taken aback that you were into self-fulfilling prophesies. Your analyses of the prior few elections are more cursory than I would have thought worthy of your intelligence.
Oh well.
Well when Wall Street is looking to predate the State, we wouldn't want to break up the party.
Actually, people did listen, which is why Simon crushed Dick Riordan in the primary. The GOP fixed that by sabotaging his campaign in the general election. With all that, he lost by less than 325,000 votes with 1.6 million Republicans sitting out the election.
Not to be too irreverent, however, he wasn't talking about CA politics, was he? Because Arnold just caused GANG-GREEN to inherit 1/5th of CA with the Sierra-Nevada CONservancy!!!
"Give to Caesar, what is Caesar's" was not a reference to the Sierra Nevadas but it's ironic that the motivating philosophy behind the recent decision was similar in tone: "Give to Green what is sacred".
Well at least Arnold has vetoed some legislation. If a Democrat was in office we would have had a tax increase again, a repeal of prop 13, and drivers licenses for illegals.
That's why I was against the recall of Davis. All the recall did was give the Marxist/Dem legislature cover. The recall was a huge mistake, in my opinion. To people who ask would it have been better to keep Davis, I say yes, because then the Dems could not run and hide from the state's problems, which they caused.
If the theory that things will only get better after they get worse has any validity, then I say let the Dems take over and stew in their own juices for awhile.
Stupid article by a clearly stupid man. If the article were any more generalized and opinioned, and beefless, it would explode. That's my call.
Will you be moving out of state with Nissan?
Sorry, you don't have your facts straight.
A tax increase would require Republican complicity in the State legislature. A repeal of Prop 13 would require a State Constitutional Amendment, with voter approval. Driver licenses for illegals were about to be repealed anyway by referendum when Arnold signed nearly unanimous legislation repealing SB-60.
I'm a contractor here, not a full-time employee. I don't get all the moving assistance and benefits. So I couldn't afford to follow the company there even if I was assured of a job. Thanks for asking.
No way! Not a chance!! Unless yer a bleepin Born Again Pagan!!!
That's quite right and rightfully so, since it was yer nickel! You da man!!!
You need to write him an open letter and ask him why he won't dance with the ones that brung him to the ball! Why won't he dance with the CA Farm Bureau that endorsed him early on in the Recall and repeal that stupid Sierra Nevada CONservancy legislation. Then ask him why he won't dance with all the conservatives from Nevada, Placer and El Dorado counties that ginned up way more than our share to make a Recall election possible in which a vast majority voted for him and STILL supported his Special Election and his ballot propositions as hopeful, loyal conservative counties expecting him to do what he said he would.
And finally, ask him who he thinks he's dancin with when he appoints all those enemies of capitalism Demnocrats to judgeships and other high paying bloated bureaucrat posts in the bloated state government!
Then tell him that hell hath no fury like that of a voter in CA scorned by a thoughtless politician who takes us for granted while making things harder for us who wanted Democrats OUT of our state government... Not just Gray Davis!!! And we certainly never expected him to out Democrat Davis in the process, but he has!!!
Why the cracks, Carry Okie? And why are you evaluating my intelligence?
