A guy a friend talked to used that approach. His daughter asked him what he did to her boyfriend because he was quite freaked out when her father returned him to her...
"To be clear, just by bringing up the armed forces in a discussion of this little bastards deeds is stupid. What is the purpose of this comment?"
Probably because most of us support and are proud of our 18 year olds (and any ages) volunteer military. I thought that brushcop's comment was a good one. I think you have a big-fat problem taking offense to it.
There is no connection between our brave soldiers and this murdering bastard.
His purpose was to show the difference in good and evil. It makes sense to me.
You are strange. There are many posts to take exception to, but not the one you targeted.
Huh?
Based on the reports... The parents were against it, but the two of them reportedly maintained a secret sexual relationship. The parents were against her seeing this guy, and when he had her out all night, they called him over to talk about it...he shot them after an hour-long discussion.
On the other hand, the girl was in a rebellious phase, and it really upset her that I hit it off so well with her dad! Oops!
That's what I've been thinking, too -- what a huge difference in maturity, motivation, responsibility, and focus we see in 18 yo's.
This immature child threw an extreme me-me-me tantrum when his selfish relationship was exposed and thwarted. And now his feelings are hurt.
Against her seeing the guy? You don't discuss it and you simply don't let it drag on. You do something now.
If my daughter hits 14 and maintains a secret sexual relationship with an 18 year old guy, then somebody is going to jail immediately.
Either him for statutory rape or me for homicide.
