PETA Protests Fish in Pensacola (BARF ALERT!)
WEAR-TV Pensacola, FL ^ | 17 Nov 2005 | dthomas@sbgnet.com

Posted on 11/17/2005 1:01:02 PM PST by goresalooza

A nationwide campaign to stop school children from eating fish made a stop in Pensacola today. People for the ethical treatment of animals held a demonstration in front of two Escambia County schools. They passed out trading cards that featured cartoon characters who are suffering from what they claim to be the effects of eating fish. PETA spokesperson Karin Robertson says eating fish is the most toxic thing we can do to ourselves.

Karin Robertson/PETA Spokesperson: "There's more chemicals in fish than any other product that is licensed and approved to be sold in a grocery store. We wouldn't be eating, uh feeding lead paint chips to our kids. We shouldn't be feeding fish to them either."

Bobby Kay/Protesting PETA: "So is the lettuce they're eating. The lettuce that they're eating is toxic they're sprayed with chemicals and these people just don't know it. Obiously they've eaten so much lettuce the toxicity has gone to their head and they can't think properly."

The PETA demostration inspired a protest at Brownsville Middle School. A local radio station and the Oyster Barn on Bayou Boulevard teamed up to give away free fish sandwiches to encourage people to eat fish.

PETA screeching about seafood and fish are about as welcome as the plague here in the Florida panhandle.

Good grief! Keep these morons away from our schools, too. Not sure this is legal to protest near schools, either.

Hmmm...considering the pesticides in vegetables and the poisons in our fish and meat, I'm surprised these PETA idiots haven't simply stopped eating altogether.

Now...there's a thought...

This shouldn't have a barf alert. No one likes the PETA pinheads. All they do is promote backlash against the granola-crunching animal-rights fanatics and Greens. Which is a good thing.

To paraphrase Johhny Rotten, "Fish are stupid. They deserve to be eaten".

They probably protested that those 8 distressed dolphins were rescued from the MS Gulfarium after Katrina.

Peta is nuts...I don't like that they get near our schoolkids with their stupid views. It's enough that they are raging hate-filled socialists but they have no business near kids.

What kind of people make up the ranks of PETA? I suspect they are people who hate people. Sad, sick, sorry, maladjusted people who try to hide their hatred of normal society behind a curtain of compassion for animals. Probably most of them wouldn't go two steps out of their way to rescue a dog or a cat, but would be there johnny-on-the-spot to point fingers of shame at others. From what I've seen, PETA people get their greatest satisfactions from hurting other humans and from disrupting the everyday life of ordinary folks.

That's why if I heard about PETA protesting somewhere, I'd set up a table across from them and hand out free McDonald/BK fish sandwiches. I'd eat the sandwiches in front of them just to watch their panties get in a bind...

All press releases involving PETA actions and quotes belong on the Cartoon Page.

PETA should up to Massachusetts. If that new sex with animals law gets passed, there is no syaing what could happen there.

Imagine Ted Kennedy and some poor mere 150 lb dog!!

Now THAT's cruel!!!
