Great Britain: 'Mr Gay' gets kit on (Homosexual Royal Navy sailor to dishonor uniform in 'pageant')

'Mr Gay' gets kit on

By TOM NEWTON DUNN

A NAVY officer will face charges by competing in tonight’s Mr Gay UK final — IN UNIFORM.

Top brass banned Lt Richard Cowell, 25, from the nationwide pink pageant after he reached the last 20 in April — as The Sun revealed.

But the weapons engineer will defy them by going on the catwalk in full naval whites and peaked cap.

Lt Cowell, who joined up four years ago, now wants to leave the Navy. He knows he risks a court martial for bringing the Senior Service into disrepute.

But he is determined to be at the Blackpool final.

The officer, from the frigate HMS Northumberland, will have to don tight-fitting swimwear and will play the Blue Peter theme on a flute.

A Navy spokesman warned Cowell would be committing a serious breach of discipline, adding: “Uniform should only be worn on duty or on special occasions.”

But Mr Gay UK’s Patch Jobson said: “We’re delighted Richard is going on. It’s sad the Navy still has this mentality.”

As long as members of minority groups insist upon intentionally dishonoring the laws and traditions of the countries that they live in, they will never become accepted by the majority population.  This sort of 'in your face' approach will only cause normal, healthy and decent people to feel even more revulsion regarding homosexuals than they already do.

I hope that the Royal Navy will absolutely throw the book at him.

This is the Royal Navy we are speaking of. His *is* honoring a tradition of long standing, at least by being of the homosexual persuasion. (Although Bi might more properly be applied).

The inappropriate wear of the uniform would of course be a problem no matter what the cause he was trying to demonstrate for.
