IMO John Murtha is a traitorous POS. The military is winning this war, but it sure looks they are going to be sold out by a bunch of scumbags in Congress. Even worse, the MSM is conspiring with the cut and run crowd. They are selling Murtha like a recent convert to the anti-war crowd, but he's been talking capitulation for months if not years. For the most part, these people have been against the war ALL ALONG. They've been waiting for years for any sort of bad news from Iraq, so they can surrender. Unfortunately, bad news is kind of hard to come by, so they've manufactured this media event.
The remaining patriots in Congress need to stand up to these surrender clowns before they SERIOUSLY damage the war effort and bring comfort to our enemies. Yes, there are lives on the line...hundreds of thousands of our Iraqi allies and ultimately, many more American lives if we show weakness.
The President and his staff better start fighting back with everything they've got. We are WAY beyond polite exchanges now. Hit the Demoncrats and RINOs with everything you've got. Sheesh. The President has nothing to lose as he's not going up for another election. (A bit of advice: stop kissing RINO ass, RNC).
As for polls, leaders don't follow polls, THEY MAKE THEM. It's time to slap mainstream America in the face and tell them we are at war. Remind them of what happened to our friends and allies in Vietnam when we pulled out. Ask them to consider what will happen if we cut and run in Iraq. I bet you the Republican base will rally and the polls will swing back toward majority support for staying the distance.
