Gals thanks for the welcome here on your finest thread. I was looking over the graphic you have with the names of our active duty and families members of active duty again a few minutes ago. I am so happy that we have the internet this time around, (not like Vietnam) so we can get our message of thanks out the the troops and their families. I really believe every message of thanks we post and every thread we post make a difference to somoeone-somewhere....and that has to grow bigger and bigger.... we all have to do something- however small everyday.... so good job y'all! Hugs gals!

A World In Labor

Read:
Romans 8:18-25

The whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. —Romans 8:22

Bible In One Year: Galatians 4-6

cover Every now and then the earth lets out a moan. Sometimes it's more of a scream, like a mother giving birth.

The apostle Paul said that "the whole creation groans and labors" (Romans 8:22). These groans often take the form of earthquakes, landslides, hurricanes, or tsunamis.

A song by Sarah McLachlan speaks to this instability and the often tragic results of such geologic flailing. Called "World On Fire," one verse describes dealing with tragedy this way:

"I watch the heavens and I find a calling; something I can do to change this moment. Stay close to me while the sky is falling; don't want to be left alone."

We aren't alone in longing for Jesus, our Savior, to return. As we wait, He is our constant companion. Like the earth, we rant and rave for God to make things right. We as His followers are called to wait "with perseverance" (v.25) in spite of our earthly uncertainties. Someday all of creation "will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God" (v.21).

Jesus said that He would be with us always, "even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). And we can trust Him to keep His word. —Dale Beaver

When earthquakes and calamities
Increasingly appear,
Look up, trust God, He's in control—
Redemption's drawing near. —Hess

Jesus makes possible our new birth and nature's rebirth.

I agree Diva
I feel the same way about the internet. I'm so thankful we have the Internet. Our Heroes, are and always have been America's Blessing. They deserved to be honored. I love being able to read and post about them everyday. Forget that msm, we are the American Citizens and our voice are the ones that should be heard. Not that minority propaganda the msm tries to feed us. :)

I should have commented sooner. So many read your posts and may not comment to you how much we enjoy seeing them each day. Although, I'm sure many do! :)

It's cold here downstate. You all must be really cold this morning! :) Stay warm. Good night for the fire place.

We are indebted to you for stepping up to the Friday at The Finest Posting Plate, GBA!
You've done a beautiful job of it with your Pledge of Allegiance and cute exhausted?/relaxed? kitty!

Your reminder of fireplace weather descending upon most of America sent me to the Finest Family Room, and I see this fella has already lit our first one of the season before he goes angling for fishies..:))

!

Here's a special cup of hot chocolate I made for you
to keep you going..

It is cold here too, no snow where we are, but just a short drive to the south towns there is a ton of lake effect snow.

Speaking of 'warming' things, we do indeed appreciate His Honor posting our portion of Daily Bread to start our days.

By the way, even this far south we had a low of about 35 degrees this morning, but we will quickly bounce up to the 60's with sunshine.
We actually badly need rainfall for the winter grass crops to germinate and flourish.
