Kerry: I'd have us in a 'different place'
CNN ^ | 11/17/05 | John Kerry

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A top House Democrat called for a swift U.S. withdrawal from Iraq on Thursday amid a White House counteroffensive against allegations that the Bush administration misled the country over prewar intelligence. CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer spoke with Sen. John Kerry -- the Massachusetts Democrat who lost to President Bush in last year's election -- beginning by asking about the president recently quoting Kerry's prewar comments on Saddam Hussein. "I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a threat, and a grave threat, to our security," the president quoted Kerry saying, in part. BLITZER: You firmly believed that, going into the war -- that's why you voted for that resolution? KERRY: Providing he had those weapons, and providing -- which the president didn't quote, as he distorted again to America our position and the truth -- providing that he did the other things, which are: a follow-through on the inspections; not go unilaterally; build a legitimate coalition; plan carefully and go as a last resort. All of which the president said he would do; none of which he did do. The record is now clear. So I said in that very same speech, which the president did not quote, that if you proceeded too rapidly, if you didn't do the things I just described, you could make a volatile region more dangerous, you could attract more terrorists and you would make America less secure, not more. The president needs to stop being selective, and he needs to start to level with the American people. That speech on Friday, on Veterans Day -- a sacred day for veterans, which was a political-attack day for the president -- was not an honest speech.

He'd have us with the world leaders whom he refused to name that told him they wanted him as president.

How I would love to see someone, anyone, just deck Kerry! Just lay him out. Well, I can dream, can't I?

Detroit - (AP) 11-17-05 Detroit was largely spared overnight Saturday from the violence that has wracked the country for 17 nights, but arson and violence have spread to other American cities.

There were fears that Detroit would be a target Saturday after reports that a coordinated assault was being planned, but it didn't materialize.

An additional 3,000 police were mobilized to ensure calm over the Ramadan weekend, with increased security around noted landmarks like the Ford Tower and transportation centres such as train stations.

The Ohio Governor said the relative calm on Saturday night represented a "major lull" in the turmoil. At a media briefing Sunday, he suggested "things could return to normal very quickly."

Pennsylvania reported only two major incidents on Saturday, one in the suburbs southeast of Philadelphia and the other in the south of the city.

Reports from around the country said 374 vehicles were set on fire. That is down from about 1,300 overnight on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6.

President Kerry's government announced emergency appeasement measures on Tuesday, including curfews aimed at stopping the violence.

29 vehicles torched in Chicago

But Chicago had its worst night in a week and Milwaukee also reported violent incidents, although they are minor in comparison with the situation in Detroit.

In Chicago, 29 vehicles were set on fire. There are no reports of injuries and 50 people have been arrested.

"Not go unilaterally; build a legitimate coalition;"

Kerry and his French obsession. He can't get over it.

Is that special place "seared" in your memory?

Having Saddam still in power, threatening his neighbors, oeprating rape rooms, filling mass graves, running his "woodchipper" with screaming Shia and Kurds is not my idea of a better "place."

No thanks Senator John F'n Kerry. You lost. It is time for you to have a nice cup of STFU.

Is there statute of limitations on Treason! The constitution bars him from holding the office Senator if, indeed, his treasonous behavior can be proven.

What are we waiting for? Can I walk up to the jerk and make a citizens arrest?

As I recall, the traitorous Senator made a hasty withdrawl from the Swift boats by awarding himself medals.

He is in no position to ask for a swift withdrawal from anywhere.

Had Kerry been elected we would have been targeted numerous times just as 9/11.

Kerry: I'd have us in a 'different place'

He's exactly right and I believe him. This 'different place' is typically defined and referred to as "Hell".
