For goodness sake, we have more than a hundred thousand men and women who are risking their lives to do what is right, and protecting our country, and some elected members of Congress don't want them to do that job.

I started thinking about it when USA Today interviewed me for a piece on "Patriotism" on the 4th of July, and the reporterette kept asking, "Well, can't liberals be patriots, too?" And at the time I didn't have a great answer for her. But I do now.
