This is great....seems like a no-win situation for the Dems:
-- If they decide to support the troops by vote, then they'll be backtracking on their own rhetoric.
-- If they vote (and the vote passes) to bring the troops home, and the Iraq situation implodes, they'll have no one to blame but themselves.

Brilliant! They have to be in a disarray right about now!

Good. A public record that we can all put on blogs. Those who voted our troops in and then publicly abandoned them.

This could backfire against the Dems and the RINOs in a major way. If enough get cold feet and vote to nix the idea and raffirm the war, it could dampen this anti-war politickin' and bloviatin' thats been going on.

Or it could backfire on the Republicans if they have to pull the now scheduled vote or worse yet, if they hold the vote and the RINOs defect to vote with the Democrats. Is Tom Delay in town or tied up in court in Texas? If he's in D.C., the worst that would happen is there will not be a vote - bad enough. I bet he's in Tx since I think there is stuff from court today on here.

"We'll let the members debate it and then let them vote on it," said Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., the acting majority leader.
I'm with ya Roy - give 'em hell.

They don't call it the Show-Me-State for no reason!

Remember, a Missourian, is the only one to nuked 'em.

Not showing up to vote is almost as bad as voting to withdraw. The Dems are in a real pickle...FINALLY!!!

"Touche'! Awesome move. Will be anxious to see how many dems are a no show also. COWARDS!"

Yea, don't get trampled at Reagan National by all the Congresscowards trying to catch the 6 o'clock flight rather than vote.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's office had no immediate comment.

Yet another historic first. One for which we're all grateful, I might add.

If they vote that way, we vote to send them home in 06. If that doesn't happen, stock up on more ammo, cause your going to have to fight your own war {for real}.

Hannity called for this on his radio show yesterday afternoon...so we know where O'Reilly got the idea.

I think you're right, maybe it was Hannity, I just woke up & remembered it on Fox yesterday, now that you say it, I think it was Hannity!

"Hugh Hewitt called it yesterday, bring it to a vote."

Hannity asked for this vote last night too.

C'mon...you really think the leadership would have called the Dems' bluff if they weren't 100% sure it wouldn't pass?

No Veto required. It is a "Sense of the Senate" vote.

No legislation involved. If the Senate were serious, they would put the Budget for Iraq spending on the table.
