The base would have been fired up with Alito anytime, anyway.
I know I am. Alito, the calm personable jurist and scholar, is actually kind of exciting. At least, in a dryly legal way. And the day had to come for conservatives when their judicial nominees could come out of the closet. Not bursting out in full regalia like Bork did. But being more open.
It's an important milestone for longterm conservative dominance.

I never saw one set of "internals" from these anti-Bush polls that were performed objectively.
These polls are just so much toilet paper.

I hope that is what they are doing. I think with some of these secret documents being declassified soon, we may be seeing proof of WMD. But who knows if the old lying media will bother to talk about it.
This country is in trouble when the media is so horribly biased.

Agreed, polls controlled by the Liberal media cannot and should not be trusted, ever.
The selection of Meir's was a direct result of the weak kneed Republican Party in Congress, the selection was controversial and caused heated debate that resulted in the selection of Alito. The first reaction from the president was to work within the constraints of a weak majority, the second was his decision to challenge their weakness and put the ball in their court with the base of the party.
The president has since gone on the offensive to stave off the constant attacks and lies perpetuated by the MSM and the Democrats. Congress has since found out that it is much wiser to stand behind the president, lets hope it continues.
If the Republicans keep the pressure up, the Democrats and the MSM will be crushed like a tin can.

I've always thought Card was the lose link in the administraton.... I've just never trusted him for some reason I can't really pin down.
To: Always Right
I said that on another thread last night; many people are adamant I'm wrong and it was Powell or Armitage, but my intuition tells me it was Card.
