Did the Mexican army perform an armed raid into US territory to gain control of this truck? Sure reads like that.

One of these types of incidents is going to blow up some day, and when it does, the U.S. populace is going to be furious that something hasn't been done to prevent this sort of thing.

We're just one itchy trigger finger from melt-down.

"Everyone had the presence of mind not to cause an international incident, or start shooting."

Maybe it would have been better if they had.

Pot going INTO Mexico???

aside from that - yet more indications that Mexican legal and military authorities might NOT be interested in law and order and peace between our nations...

Armed Mexican police and/or Mexican military in the US?I'd say that is a serious incident.Do you think this will make the evening news?

The one area which this administration can be faulted is its lack of control over the border. I'm not a tinfoil hatter, but the way in which they completely ignore what's going on down there is hard to explain.

Well, we should be seeing a report on this incident almost any time in the MSM. < /sarcasm>

I thought that our Federal Government was here to protect the individual States from being invaded?

Congressman Culberson (Houston, Texas) was on Hannity's radio show yesterday and H&C last night discussing similar incidents and the Mexican Army's participation. He was complaining that the border patrol had their hands tied by the Administration so he's planning to circumvent the Feds and equip the Sheriff's Dept in several counties along the TX border to clean this mess up. He described himself as having his 'hair on fire' over this situation. He had reports from two Sheriffs that an Al Queda terrorist with papers naming him as a Mexican had been arrested recently and held in their jail. Hopefully the Sheriff's Dept from these areas will get the support they need to clean up their neighborhoods. Evidently they are ready and willing. God bless them!

It's a very serious incident

Oh No. Just ask the administration. These are just our "brothers" who "share our cultural values" as former SoS Colin Powell put it. Not serious at all.

Perish the thought that it might be the Mexican Army guarding a load that got across but was then intercepted, and they rescued it saving the Narcotraficantes they work for hundreds of thousands of U.S. dollars.

Perish the thought.

Is this not enough proof that the Mexican government has evil and selfish reasons for wanting the borders open? What part of their national revenue comes from the drug trade? Isn't their most lucrative export their tired-and-poor? Drugs must be 2nd.

Or, alternately, the Mexican mafia has control of the military (or has their OWN military force), and the government just allows them to operate due to kickbacks from the Mob.

Either way, we are letting our potheads control this criminal industry. It's not about wonderful hemp shampoo. It's about supporting an international "corporation" a bit more evil than Halliburton.

NBC (a.k.a., N BS) to produce series based upon this incident.

Mexican farmers protect their farm produce from maniacal, heavily-armed, foaming-at-the-mouth "Minuteperon" rightwing bigots. Mexican military coordinates ongoing actions with U.S. trade officials to help Mexican farmers market produce in U.S.
