I sure do hope that the likes of Kerry and Kennedy don't end up hanging around, for what seems to be forever, like Jimmy Carter and Castro have. The sooner the world is rid of all four of them the better.

He's talking about the vote right now in China. He is saying that Murtha is a fine man (see, he's attacking him again) and his position was thoughtful, but that he disagrees with him. They want to break our will and get us to leave to turn Iraq into what Afganistan was. Iraq has made clear they want us to help them and to train their security forces. I think he is going slow so that he can be translated. This is a debate worthy of our country. It does not have to be a partisan issue. Immediate withdrawal was rejected (you are right, the vote was a big help to him). Now he's taking questions.

"You can differ on the policies, and we should talk about the policy," Kerry said. "The administration has continuously misled Americans about our presence. We need to have the debate and figure out how we bring our troops home in a responsible way. John Murtha Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is really just adding to the debate in a very personal way. This man's statements have to be taken seriously even if you don't agree with his policy."

He's just being kind toward Murtha, kinder than I would be. It won't put an end to the charge that the Administration is "attacking" those who disagree with it, but in an honest world it would.

I had to have a play on words. Kerry's "global test" must also account for the feelings of al-Zarqawi too...Rats on the same page.

Kerry, who lost the 2004 presidential election to Bush, said Murtha did not deserve to be called names like "coward" by allies of the administration.
"It's just the attack politics: The people are sick and tired of it," Kerry said. "You don't call John Murtha a coward.
I mean, Dick Cheney had five deferments in a row in Vietnam, when John Murtha went to serve."
Geez, al-Q'erry, don't you fee the least little bit ashamed for trashing and cheapening forever the terms "Purple Heart," "Honorable Discharge," "war hero," "decorated," "veteran," "tour of duty," during the election? ....I guess your type just don't get ashamed.
*sigh*

john kerry needs to look to his own backyard. Boston had a 56% surge in murders in 2004. He should spend his time waging a war on that instead of pretending to know what he's talking about on the world stage.

Life was better when JF'nK wasn't showing up for work in the Senate.Did you know there actually is a law/rule that withholds pay for the days a congresscritter does not show up? Found that little tidbit the other day when I was searching for something else. Why should we be surprised that Congress doesn't think it really applies?

The entire Democrat party wouldn't recognize a true leader if he/she socked them right smack-dab in the kisser.
Oh, and Kuck Ferry.

I believe that there were a fair number of people trying to get the Senate paymaster to dock Kerry appropriately during the '04 election - no luck ... or rule of law.
