DEMOCRATS are on the attack over the decision to invade Iraq in 2003. They're now claiming that Saddam Hussein was not a serious threat to America — and that President Bush intentionally misled the nation in making his case for war.
Yet, before the invasion, many of these critics warned of the dangers Saddam posed. Many backed the Iraqi Liberation Act of 1998, which set regime-change in Iraq as official U.S. policy. And they called for forceful action to stem the threat, even voting to authorize Bush to topple Saddam by force.
Below are comparisons of what the critics said before the invasion, and after. — THE EDITORS

Saving. Thanks
Excellent compilation. Thanks for posting it!
If President Bush mislead them, they are as stupid as the voters that put them in office.
I wish people would stop confusing me with the facts. Bush lied, genna davis told the truth. The war is bad, sadman was good. Let's leave Iraq today and the terrorists will all open peaceful shops in the market. cumbayah. s/off
And somewhere in between... a couple of nuclear devices are detonated in America, turning it into a third-world, banana-republic.
This whole scenario is not really about the war and it's successes and failures. The whole truth is that the left hates Bush and EVERYTHING HE IS INVOLVED IN.
They do not want Bush to get credit for accomplishing anything! Those who were on the record as supporting Iraq regime change, the removal of Saddam, and the dismantling of the Iraq WMD program suddenly forgot their support because GWB is now in charge and they HATE him for removing them from power.
This is not just about the war, but every policy Bush has promoted. The war is the easiest way to attack him because the Dems have support from a lot of 1960's hippies who know how to protest war and get camera time.
The squabbling in congress is like a bunch of 1st graders at the drinking fountain.
The pathological hatred of Bush is the same as Reagan. The greater/more effective the enemy, the deeper the hatred.
I agree
But in the process they are hurting our country and our military
Because of their actions and words .. they are also sending a message of hope to the terrorists
in 3 years .. Bush won't be President any longer
But we will still be fighting terrorism
Hence the complete trashing of Nixon.
What you said --- plus, they are trying to set the stage for the Hillary coronation.
Her throne is in the outhouse not white house.
Dems are indeed hurting our country and our military.
But Dems have a plan to fix everything. Just trust them...even if they don't have a clue as to what their better plan might be.
The only plan Dems seem to have is to get re-elected.
After that...................????????????????????
The Dems are all words and no action
That vote in the House on Friday about pulling out of Iraq is proof of that
Like someone in another thread said this morning..."the real anti war vote came in the first vote to allow the vote on the Murtha resolution to withdraw, not the actual vote to withdraw our troops from Iraq. That vote was on party lines with several GOP defectors the first time and very close.
I heard the President's speech today, and he back to making nice to the Democrats.
I heard the President's speech today, and he's back to making nice to the Democrats.
These are people that both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln would have up before a firing squad. We had better move toward those standards, before we lose our grip on Democracy, freedom and the United States completely.
