I am confident that this location was taken down / secured in an immediate follow-up Op - Once this Sniper/SAS Op was completed.
3 bangs equal 1 gang bang
3 Fffts equal 1 silencer
So the Lapua is based on the .416 case. Very interesting piece. Yeah, over the years I have garnered the impression the .50 rifles are just too heavy, awkward, and hard-kicking for anti-personnel sniping. Furthermore, every time a writer has actually got round to discussing accuracy, the results are still miserable after over twenty years of .50 BMG rifles being churned out, ie. not nearly worth the bulk.
The .338 Lapua does sound like the best balance of factors.
Ya think .338 to the head is "enought gun?"
For "harsh words", Yes! The pilgrims did good.
My, my, my, who IS that handsome guy? Is that Darriel?
Weapon of choice?
Shovel? Hoe? Slingshot? Rock? BB-gun? Lol.
NICE t-shirt.
Country, ranch, farm, sheep, cattle folks traditionally did this, whether they were wealthy or middle class. Only the MOST poor country folks who couldn't afford a gun did without one. Guns were necessary to take care of varmints, four- or two-legged.
At least the man from the poor family had a rifle and bullets so he COULD find dinner. The movie "Sergeant York" was one such poor family -- but they DID have weapons and ammunition for hunting. That is, they weren't DIRT poor. Sleazywood mythified many things.
I guess it does demonstrate the the Iraqis do want freedom and the Coalition Forces are being able to recruit from inside to assist on the WOT. IMHO this is also GREAT NEWS!
Congratulations to our Snipers....unseen, unknown BUT making a difference in defending our freedoms here in the USA.
