I think that bombing of the Islamic wedding was the final straw. Note his odd outburst of apology earlier this week. I suspect, as you suggest, that folks near him decided to rat him out. Possible someone who had a family member injured or killed.

He has a very serious PR problem now if he did escape with his life again.
