WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice denied being Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward's source on the identity of Valerie Plane.
Woodward acknowledged last week that he knew that Plame -- wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson -- was a CIA agent, days before New York Times reporter Judith Miller. I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was forced to resign as Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff when he was indicted on an obstruction of justice charge stemming from a federal investigation into the leak.
Rice, traveling in Asia with President George. W. Bush, issued her denial through a spokesman, the New York Times said. She was responding to a story in the Times that listed her as one of the officials who had made no comment on whether she was Woodward's source.
why doesn't the MSM just force Woodward to spill the beans?

I thought they were all so sure that Rove was the source. Remember our buddy Laurence O'Donnell screaming "it's Rove, it's Rove''? Now they're stopping every man on the street corner and asking "are you the source"? This whole case is just a big bunch of BS.
I believe it was Mark Felt who told Woodward.
Because they need a story. They'll make a bigger and bigger deal about it, and then when the intrigue they've built hits a crescendo, they'll spill the beans and it'll be headline news.
Until then, though, no one really gives a hoot who told Woodward this, since it's not illegal to do so, and the interest is purely partisan at this point.
My money is on Joe Wilson being the source.
Joe wilson, yeah sure. But for the Administration source...I put my bet on Colin Powell...the most passive aggressive man ever, and now, ticked off cause he is a nobody and Rice is besting him.
It's called.....let's just GUESS and put EVERYONE on the hotseat while we're doing so.

For Pete's sake already. NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED!!!!!!! The effing fudgepacking media is going to drag this NON-CRIME out until they have people believing that there was a crime somewhere, somehow.

Such a parlor game! This is all about gossip - who started it, and when did it get morphed into a story?
I think both Woodward and Russert know more than they're telling us, but none of it matters (except to Libby, who is going to have to spend millions to explain why he might have confused Russert and Woodward)
