Its interesting that Jeff Wasserstein, a liberal Democrat backed Alito. But the vote's proof positive the Reform movement's real concerns are preserving secular liberalism, not furthering Jewish values. They're Libbies anyway. Reform Judaism has very little to do with Judaism in its practices.
Incidentally, Orthodox Judaism (its practitioners are more amenable to Conservatism) is the fastest growing branch of Judaism.
