CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES 'X' OVER VP'S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH

At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!

The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.

As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."

One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.

"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"

A CNN spokesman did not return repeated calls late Monday night.

Oh how I wish it was something that would get them in trouble, but chasing this as being intentional just makes everyone look like idiots.

Responding to TVNewser's request for comment this evening, a CNN spokesperson explained: "This was a technolgical malfunction, not an issue of operator error. A portion of the switcher experienced a momentary glitch."

On Hannity & Colmes, for less than a 15th of a second it was almost subliminal howerver, when u slow down the tape u see dick cheney's face with a large X on it "I think they've gotta give an explanation," IF ITS just a random mistake, a video glitch, i dont know how that happens i think in fairness, give them an opp to explain it Sean Hannity mentioned the RATS and MemoGate..."

It was a year ago spring, I think, when Drudge was pleading on the air for people not to lose their cool after there was a report the Secret Service was chasing a possible assassin.

There was also a book and a play and all sorts of artwork about Bush getting assassinated.

Liberals have been planting that idea into the national conscience for many years.

Actually- as awful as it looks- it may well have been a screw up- or if intentional- on the part of some stupid kid in the control room trying to be funny.

But it was really stupid of them not to answer Drudge's calls today...

I'm not sure that there's anything there.
I copied it to Paint and blew it up to 800%.
There's nothing that can be made out. It could just be the picture refreshing on the screen at the moment that it was captured. Some fuzziness while it was paused.

Or perhaps it was something more diabolical.
