Yep. You could not pay me to go into certain areas in Charlotte--day or night. The suburbs are generally OK.

Recently, in the last five years or so the entire state of NC has undergone a huge influx of Spanish speaking illegals. The crime reports in the Charlotte paper are frequently filled with Hispanic names.

This is added to the indigenous population that has its own high crime level and the situation has gone from bad to worse.

The police chief needs an additional 90 officers and the county/city boards d/n seem to want to fund them.
