Such a surprise! /S
During the war, before the occupation, this bias was blatant:
- Remember Brig. Gen. (ret.) Leslie Stahl trying to lecture former Chairman JCS Coliln Powell on supply line vulnerabilities.
- The NY Times reporter who took a general's comment about how this enemy was "a bit different than the one we war gamed" and dropped the "a bit". The talking heads spent three days spinning that into impending disaster before the truth came out.
- Two weeks into the war, while the Iraqi Republican Guard was being decimated from the air, all the MSM liars kept telling us we were bogged down and "shades of Vietnam" were showing.
- Rember Chip Reid's moving account about how the Marines he was embedded with were being welcomed as liberators? Of course not. Gloria Borger cut him off, telling him not to mind that but "Chip, tell us about the looting."
Once the occupation started it continued.
- 2,300 Iraqi schools have been rebuilt. Have we seen one on TV?
- Multiple bases have been turned over to the ISF. Have we seen any of those ceremonies?
- Entire provinces have been turned over to Iraq protection. Did we hear or seen anything about that?
Q.E.D.
Damn straight.
I live in a community where many of our military live. Many of them have been to Iraq and Afghanistan. The stories they tell about our successes over there NEVER make it into the leftist media. We are effecting an incredible transformation in these two nations and all the defeatist media can report is the occasional car bomb or suicide attack - as if that is all that is happening over there.
The defeatist media is seditious at best, treasonous at worst. They do all they can to lose the war by undermining morale and subverting the war effort. Nothing they say can be taken at face value. Our people in the Middle East are performing magnificently and deserve praise and recognition for their work. They will never get it from the defeatist media or the dimrat party.
