Every LEO I know thinks these "holster pocketbooks" are about the stupidest invention imaginable. Purse snatching is one of the most common types of theft in big cities and the victim would lose her pocketbook with the weapon in it long before she could draw the thing to put it in action.

Good point, however here are two real life stories:
#1. Some punk tried to snatch my ex-wife's purse one day in San Francisco back when we were living near the TL. She fought back (which all the 'experts' tell you not to do). She said she kicked his a$$ pretty good & kept her purse and when she got home we went out looking for him, but never found him. She said she ran into him again about a week later and the little punk ran crossed to the other side of the street and away from her!
#2. There was a woman who used to babysit for us who carried a .45 around in her purse(also in SF). My kind of babysitter! I've also known more than a few women who carried around hangduns in the purses, that's probably why they are so heavy!
