I've had false neutrals in places you wouldn't expect, but it's not really a hazard, just embarassing when you twist the throttle expecting to go forward, and all you get is a revved up engine for your trouble. I have an older bike (I won't mention the manufacturer) that had a real problem with that between second and third gear. Hopefully a tranny rebuild will resolve the issue.

But it does make me laugh that my Ohio made Honda VTX has more American parts than many H-Ds.

My son-in-law has a new VTX 1800. Aside from being better looking, more reliable and less expensive, it always gets a lot of favorable attention from the good HD folks.

The Harley haters are out in force.

You sound like a bunch of whiney Democrats. A good company that makes a good product is doing well and you just can't stand it.

I'll bet you hate WalMart too. Typical.

V-Rod VRSC
(Vaguely Resembles Something Contemporary)

V-rods are hot bikes, don't get me wrong. But a 600cc R6 is one third the cost and have the displacement and will hand the v-rod its @ss any day.

Thanks for showing up. I was alone here, and I don't own a Harley.

I know of a VTX rider who was at a H-D dealership looking at the new bikes when a salesperson asked if he wanted to trade his 1800C -- "Well, I am getting older and probably could do with a a slower, poorer handling and heavier bike"

Salesperson was not a happy camper after that

do people take that 600cc R6 on long trips? I think we're talking about 2 different types of bike here.
