Actually, sex was the top story tonight - female teacher having her way with a 17 year old student. Sex sells.

Can someone explain to me where all these fantastic looking female teachers were when I was in school??? I would have had no problem having sex with a great looking teacher.

I'd rather take my chances on the highway than get shot by some punk while riding the light rail train.

When,if ever, will the carnage on our highways end?

Ban cars.

Especially if your mom is like Cindy Sheehan. Then you have a responsibility to the nation to outlive her.

That's hilarious. We're losing 40,000 odd people on the highways every year and your solution is to ban cars. Go back to horses, and let us all choke on the horsepies.

I drove home from an out of town business trip today. Traffic was so heavy and slow that nobody was moving fast enough to get hurt.

...When,if ever, will the carnage on our highways end? ...

Lot of people making jokes on this thread. It's sad that we've become numb to this horrendous carnage going on all around us daily.

Too bad we couldn't take a few hundred billion dollars and put it toward safer highways and vehicles.

Cars don't kill people, motor oil kills people.

Cut out driving and run for the bus!

No. There are hundreds of deaths from busues every year. We should also phase out all bus riding by the end of 2006.

Bus driving is not going as advertised. It is a flawed method of transportation wraped in illusion. The American public is way ahead of us. Bus drivers have done all they can on the roads, but it is time for a change in direction. Our bus riders are suffering. The future of our country is at risk. We cannot continue on the present course. It is evident that continued bus driving activity is not in the best interests of the United States of America, nor the passengers who ride the buses.

My plan calls;

Thank You.

Your suggestions?

Perhaps we could all own tanks that go up to 120mph?

That is the essence of socialism; and while you are at it, just have the government go ahead and acquire the means of producing all those improved cars, and as if by magic, you will have communism.

It is a quagmire. We should have never gone on the roads.

Having grown up in that area, I can tell you that icy roads and flash-freezes are not unusual from mid-November through mid-April.

It's not the highways or the vehicles that are the problem. It's the drivers. Bad, inexperienced, harried, crazy, drunk, too slow, too fast, aggressive, impatient, inconsiderate, merge-challenged, clueless, distracted drivers cause most accidents. A refresher driver/driver etiquette course and written test should be mandatory every 5 or so years if you want to keep your driver's license. Too many of us just don't know the rules of the road. And it shouldn't cost a few hundred billion dollars.

The liberals belly-ache about the casualty toll in Iraq. Turns out its actually safer over there than here at home. 2,000 in two years in Iraq against 40,000 a year in the States? You do the math.
