CNN has no credibility whatsoever; everybody knows that. That is why that network is losing audience in droves because when America wants serious news they tune somewhere else.
In other words: it was the nut behind the switch.
It makes me angry, even though I haven't watched the network of evil in many years.
The explanation sounds logical,and i'd bet my last dollar it was done intentionally,but unless the miscreant comes forward and admits to it.....
The Clinton News Network is purely LIBERAL DEMOCRAT in their existence. Just like the NYT. That is why they will do anything, say anything to hurt the Bush administration and this country -- as they have done, and will continue to do.
Doctor Raoul is correct - I do basically this exact thing with graphics every week when we tape my church's services for later broadcast on a local cable access channel.
Thanks for posting this. I think some angry, frustrated liberal producer decided to pull a fast one on his/her bosses at CNN and now the network is covering for this person. CNN is a tool of the Michael Moore/Howard Dean democratic party and NOT a legitimate source of news.

I was a Chief Engineer of a TV Station years ago, and this could have been done very easily. When I first heard the CNN's explanation, I thought "Computer Glitch, my ass!"

In the 25 years CNN has been on the air, this is the one-and-only time I've ever heard of this happening.
And it just happens to occur while Dick Cheney is on the air, and what's more at a time when his muscular reaction to Dem propaganda has made him an MSM target? That is WAY too much coincidence for me.
I still think michael moore works as official "coffee-boy and glitch manufacturer" in the CNN control room.
Reminds me of the liberals saying Sandy Berger got caught with classified papers in his pants because of sloppiness.
It is incomprehensible that the "X" incident could have been anything but purposeful. This is the era of digital electronics. 'On' or 'Off'. I will not believe that the equipment could go "accidently" through a number of required steps to perform this feat.
It HAD to be done on purpose.
What will they think of next, since nothing else has worked to date?

My assumption since Drudge first posted the freeze frame on his web site has been that a technician in the control room did it.
Either he did it on his own hook, or someone ordered him to.
What is certain is that a quick investigation could narrow it down to the perpetrator with no trouble at all. Also, that the bosses at CNN could not possibly doubt for a minute what happened.
What is evident from that is that whether or not they gave this technician orders to do it, they strongly approve of what he did, and they intend to cover up for him.
After all, the whole culture at CNN involves forwarding the left wing agenda by whatever means necessary. To permit this technician, a hero in their eyes, to be punished would be as good as to admit that what they themselves do every day is wrong.
Unthinkable.
