This is recommended reading for those in Congress who are pushing for an exit strategy. It already exists. No need for GWB to lay it out again because the idiots in congress still cannot see the picture. We all knew the exit strategy. Were told the time frame as the author points out. Everything is on schedule. What IS the real problem congressional idiots?? They don't want GWB to get credit for anything productive and will smear every effort as a failure. That is crystal clear.

As for the fine details of the plan........no need to give that aspect to the enemy that still exists in Iraq and those neighbors of tyranny.

Those Democrat politicians in Washington, who had backed the war with as much enthusiasm

I see the Big Lie theory is still in operation. No one backed the Iraq Liberation with enthusiasm. It was recognized as a dirty job that needed doing. Democrats, except for Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller, were dragged kicking and screaming to the table and RAN from supporting the War as much as 2 years ago. The idea that the Democrats had a "Come to Mohammad" moment on the War is just hysteric nonsense being spewed forth by the DNC Spin machine.

The troops have to come home eventually. The Dems are just making noise about "bring the troops home" as a ploy to make it look as tho they have the power to force the president to "bring them home". When the troops are home the Dems will take all of the credit for it.

Also-I am sure the Dems and the media are also on the look out for some story to twist to make the appearance that President Bush is trying to sneak the troops home under our noses..... I just have a feeling about this one.

>>>What IS the real problem congressional idiots??

JMO. I think it has more to do with the details contained in those boxes of files that were found back in 2002. I'm betting there are names that were on Saddam's list that don't want thoses details to come out.

Also, JMO, I think Saddam's lawyers being killed are related to this too.

"This is recommended reading for those in Congress who are pushing for an exit strategy. It already exists......"

I would say they already KNEW what was in the works, they needed to make a "PREEMPTIVE" strike, to encourage more bloodletting, no good news for them from IRAQ if all is quiet, and further make political hay every day a member of the military returns home over the next year.

That word "withdrawal" has no other meaning to the uncivilized terrorists, our liberals seem to have publicly 'outed' themselves, if more people like this author with take the time to show the FACTS.

The issue is that some of those people want Iraq to be a failure, and so they want to define an achievable objective for the terrorists to make Iraq a "failure".

Right now there is a time table that has basically been met, but even if terrorists were to cause something to slip by a week or even a month that would not constitute a "failure" for the new government. But the pro-terrorist politicians would want to define things in such terms, so the terrorists would then have an attaintable objective.

"Those Democrat politicians in Washington, who had backed the war with as much enthusiasm as George W Bush, are now using the issue of withdrawal as a means of distancing themselves from their initial positions."

Good analysis!

The truth, however, is that a timetable has been in place from the first day of the war that ended the Ba’athist tyranny in 2003.

" EXIT STRATEGERY FOR DUmmies!"
Good article which voices what some of us have harped on and on about for well over a year. The article mentions nothing new, but provides a honest quick summary. What Taheri could have added are some direct quotes from early to mid last year from DoD press conferences that made it clear after the December elections we would start to pull out. Spring 2006 was mentioned dozens of times even back to the end period of 2003. This whole evil fiasco has been truely a ploy by the demorats to get even with the POTUS and his administration. They hate the thought of their continued lack of power in non of the elected branches of government. And they will sell their mothers and wives to Satan to regain power.

THEY HAVE NO HONOR.

Glad you enjoyed the article. I know that we, and some others, have been saying this consistently. It is nice to have it in print from someone that is there.
