The only problem with that is...650,000 years ago the Earth was in the midst of an Ice Age.

There have been four icecaps in the last one and a half-million years. Ice caps are formed when all the snow that had fallen during a season is not melted in time for the next. Should this occur for many consecutive years, a compacted snow area grows in size sufficient to create its own weather, thus nurturing and maintaining weather where very heavy snowfalls are common. Snow compacts to ice, when the weight is great enough, the ice deforms and slowly flows.

The first icecap left little evidence of its existence. The second icecap about 650,000 years ago was the largest covering 31% of North America, but with the out wash of melting waters and moraine material, it affected nearly 60% of North America. This icecap centered in Hudson's Bay. It extended as far south as the state of Kansas USA is named "The Kansan." This ice cap which had a depth of about 12,000,000 feet, sheared layers of soil from parts of Quebec, Ontario and Northern Manitoba down to Bedrock. This created the Canadian Shield. The soils were moved ahead of the ice in a very watery, lumpy, slurry known as a moraine that eventually settles, dries and becomes hill country.

There appears to be no correlation between temperature and Carbon Dioxide levels, but the chicken littles are still running around screaming that the sky is falling.

So you're telling me it's safe to leave the house, PBWY? Is that the point you're driving home?

:)

Wait a second, now. That means it was higher 650,001 years ago, I guess. So what comes next?

All right, let's call off the Industrial Revolution and go back to a hunter-gatherer society.

You mean like post-Katrina NO? Funny, I didn't see any enviro-whackos moving there...

The Day After Tomorrow would be alright with me. I just don't want one of SeeBS's Category 7 things to hit us. Everyone will die laughing like the actors did in Part 1 of that envirofarce. It will be the end of mankind.

(some of them sneak Big Macs I suspect)

ALL of the PETA men sneak Big Macs. PETA men are only PETA men because they have been "trained" by the PETA women they were hot for. Same goes for the "Anti-War" guys. They're only in the parade to impress their radical-liberal chicks.

Maybe there's hope after all--

Dr. Ladislav J. Meduna (1896-1964) from Hungary, explored the uses of Carbon Dioxide/Oxygen breathing mixture, the use of which had been described in his book Carbon Dioxide Therapy. Apparently, if one gave a psychotic patient a breathing mask and allowed him to breathe Oxygen with high percentages of Carbon Dioxide the psychotic individual became temporarily sane. Experiments were attempted where an entire room would be filled with the Oxygen/CO2 mixture and the psychotic patient would live in the room. Patients would remain sane for a period of time and then revert to their previous psychotic behavior.

Sunspots appear to intensify the Sun’s brightness and energy output

I seem to recall learning that sunspots were relatively cool spots on the sun's surface. Has that interpretation now been reversed? Any solar astronomers in the house?

The strange part of is that the US removes more carbon
dioxide from the atmosphere than it puts there.

DDD's Rule Of Media Bias # 27: The use of the passive voice in a news story is usually a sign of bias.

Absolutely. It is a convenient way to avoid anyone fixing accountability on any one else. Favored among leftwingers of course who came of age in the druggie generation ("grass was passed around").
