Just posted this on another related thread, for your consideration:

A. The article is 3 years old. AFAIK, the Hindu political party the article is about has lost quite a bit of power since then.

B. Muslim violence against Hindus so far outweighs anything Hindus have done IN RETURN regarding length (many hundreds or even more than one thousand years), breadth (over much of greater India, and what to speak of so many other Asian and South Asian countries which used to be primarily Hindu, such as Indonesia), and intensity (millions killed), that I have a hard time being extremely judgmental against Hindus.

That said, no innocent people should ever, ever suffer or "pay" for something they didn't personlly do. So the shame and guilt is on every person, no matter what their religious label, who hurts, terrorizes, or kills any civilians or innocent people.

C. If we look at the situation in India and Pak in an unbiased manner, it is crystal clear who are the overall aggressers and perpetrators of violence and terrorism. To try to blame Hindus in the same breath as Muslims is sheer stupidity or out and out lying.

D. As the articles posted above noted, "Christians" in India have also been known to carry weapons and kill innocents as well.

E. If people want to look at the whole world and see where is religious violence happening, and who is the guilty party, it will be clear in 30 seconds who are the perpetrators: Muslims primarily, and the Communists in China and North Korea and a few other places. Why not focus on those who are actively trying to kill Christians and members of other religions (for instance, Hindus and Buddhists) all over the world? Jailing them, beheading them, raping them, shooting, etc. Look at what's happening in Indonesia - school girls getting their heads chopped off because they are Christian. Look at Saudi Arabia - it's illegal to even bring a Bible into the country. When US military personel were there in numbers, everyone was warned not to send them Christmas cards or Bibles. In Pakistan people are killed right and left for reading the Bible to someone, and Christian women are routinely raped as punishment.

Why focus on India, when compared to most every other country in the history of the world, is the emblem of religious diversity and tolerance? If you take Muslims out of the equation, the entire world is practically a place of religious harmony. They (and now, in the US, the ACLU and prefessional atheists) are the main enemies of God in the world.

Not Hindus.

Some people here on FR have a real bee in their bonnets about Hinduism. I have studied the Vedic scriptures - upon which Hinduism is founded - for most of my life. I know more about the scriptural foundation of Vedic religion than most people on FR. Naturally, there are practictioners of any relgion who are not advanced in their own religion and commit many horrors or plain stupidity due to their lack of a real relationship with God. The fault is in human lack, not, in the case of Hinduism or Christianity, in the original scriptures or propounders.

For instance, I accept every word Jesus Christ spoke. I certainly don't accept some of the teachings of many of his followers, if they deviate from his intent and purpose. Same thing with some of what is called Hinduism - if it violates the basic teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Puranas and other Vedic sciptures, I don't accept it either.

So "Christians" going around killing people, or pressuring and bribing other to convert, especially using things like pictures of Jesus kicking the heads of Hindu deities, are Christians in name only. Hindus who burn alive Muslim women and children who have done them no harm are cultural Hindus but have no connection with the great Vedic religion in truth.

On the other hand, Muslims are ordered in the Koran to slaughter everyone who doesn't surrender to them. Sure, there are some nice words about surrendering to Allah, and his mercy, in the Koran. (I have 2 Korans and have read some of them.) But since its inception, Islam has been nothing other than a force of terror, compulsion, and barbarity.

I hope you seriously consider the points I have made. And if you think India is so intolerant towards, Christians, you really need to take your shades off and study up. Look at Mother Theresa's misssions, and there are many other Christians who have lived in India since one of Jesus' disciples went there almost 2000 years ago.

There are parts of India were there is not tolerance for other religions. It may be that radical fractions that do not represent the majority have taken over, I do not know.

But to pretend it is not happening or to attempt to justify that type behavior from any group or anyone is wrong. I mean whether they are Christian, Muslim, Hindus or any group.

If we attempt to justify or dismiss it that makes us no better than the people committing such behavior.

And I wish that there was more that could be done in Pakistan. Writing the government there would not help those that are suffering because of their faith (Christians, Hindus or others).

The government there is all for and behind the persecution going on over there.

In India I believe that there is still some humanity left were they will care and make a difference. In Pakistan they may reward people for this horrible behavior.
