DeGeneres. I recall reading that her brother invented “Mr. Bill,” the SNL piece.
Welcome to FR.
investigateworld,
When I was a waiter in the mid-80’s we would sometimes get a tip of a couple quarters after a $50 tab. When would make sure we had the customer’s attention and we would throw the .50 in the garbage. Most of the time the customers would get offended and threaten never to come back. We, of course, were delighted since we never wanted them back. Some still didn’t care but they couldn’t have liked our ingratitude for their generosity.
CindyDawg,
God bless you but comparing getting tips at Dairy Queen to tips at a nice rest. is apples and oranges as they say.
What the heck? You guys are a little late aren’t you? lol.
I’m glad I never waited on Cindy when putting myself through college.
She is just plain cheap.
Therasa didn’t either!
Welcome to FR, but dredging up a three year old thread isn’t the most auspicious beginning.
I don’t know. Looks like a fun thread, might have to visit the other site for some up-to-date comments.
I was just up in a small town that is all but closed down after the timber and mining died. And with the economy the way it is, their last hope of tourism dollars is fading.
The one still-open restaurant does a nice job in spite of the lack of customers (home grown tomatoes in the salad, etc.). A great meal with a soda for ten bucks. Every night would give the waitress $20 - my own take at supporting the local economy.
It’s a good time of year to rerun this thread. Some people need to examine their consciences (an old Catholic habit) about tipping.
