Not that I know of.
Perhaps a freeper who does know will chime in.

There is some serious money sloshing around in Kalamazoo. They could scare up $500 million easily.

Easily. They can barely give it away fast enough, and education makes superior future workers. :)

I graduated from Kazoo Central HS in '74 and went on to U-M. I guess I'm about 30 years too late for my free ride!

My parents and brother still live in Kazoo. I love to visit the area and have a lot of good memories of growing up in SW Michigan.

It's sad that the city has had so many problems over the years. There were problems even when I was going to school - a lot of racial conflict spilling over from Detroit in the late '60's and early 70's. Schools were closed several times due to rioting.

Kalamazoo has a fine history, interesting architecture, and a lot of fine citizens who try to improve it. I wish them well with this effort. It's a city worth saving.
