I had never heard of this guy until two days ago. Apparently he was editor of the National Lampoon in its heyday and instrumental in the beginning of SNL. The reason he's in the news again is fascinating. He wrote a book, decades ago called "HOW TO COOK YOUR DAUGHTER." He was praised as the genius of his generation. He was part of the drug culture that did in Belushi and apparently he and his wife led quite the wild life. Years later, he wrote another book, FATHER JOE: THE MAN WHO SAVED MY SOUL. It was supposed to be a book about redemption...about, I guess, Christianity saved him from his sins. Again, hailed a masterpiece. There was only one problem. He omitted one small, itsy, bitsy sin from his book...apparently he molested his daughter repeatedly when she was young. He conveniently left that out of his tell all. I think her name is Jessica.
When Jessica, who worked very hard at trying to lead a normal life after all she experienced and witnessed as a child, heard her father was writing a book to atone for his sins...she was ready to forgive...but imagine her surprise when there was no mention of the deed in his book.
So she just turned the tables on him and this week HER book called HOW TO COOK YOUR DAUGHTER was released. Apparently it's very good and tells all about those good old days everyone keeps talking about and the molestation. I heard an interview with her and it was very interesting.
See my post above...did you know anything about this Tony Hendra?
