Miller 'sorry' for WMD inaccuracies [Judith Miller, the US journalist has apologised to her readers]

Miller 'sorry' for WMD inaccuracies Judith Miller, the US journalist at the heart of the CIA leak probe, has apologised to her readers because her stories about WMD and Iraq turned out to be wrong.

The US journalist, who spent 85 days in prison over the summer before agreeing to give evidence to a grand jury investigating the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame, made the apology during an exclusive interview for BBC Newsnight.

She said: "I am obviously deeply chagrined that I ever write anything that turns out to be incorrect. I'm deeply sorry that the stories were wrong."

Ms Miller also confirmed that former senior White House aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby was one of her sources who revealed that Ms Plame was employed by the CIA.

It's a deeply troubling failure, because if we didn't know about Iraq, what do we really know about Iran, North Korea or Syria?

Judith Miller She claims Mr Libby did not out Ms Plame as a covert agent, but as someone who worked for the CIA. Ms Miller said she assumed that Ms Plame was an analyst, not an operative.

Mr Libby denies any wrongdoing.

I missed it. What did she get wrong and what is the correct answer now that she apparently knows what's right?

"It's a deeply troubling failure, because if we didn't know about Iraq, what do we really know about Iran, North Korea or Syria?"

Oh, the wizened libs are absolutely correct on this point. Iran, North Korea and Syria do not have nukes or WMD. Never have had. Never had any plans to develop them. They are not a threat to America, never have been. They are not the enemy. They love America. Always have.

And Uncle Saddam was a kindly, peace loving old gentleman. America was wrong to dethrone him. He loved America and would not harm us in any way. Had no nukes, no chemical weapons. Nothing. Never had them, never had plans for them. Would never use them. Why would he? Everyone loved Uncle Saddam and he loved everyone. He had no enemies. Hated no one. Would never harm a flea.

ALL of the intelligence developed on these countries over the last half century or so by our intelligence agencies and ALL intelligence agencies worldwide is totally wrong. All of history is wrong and needs to be rewritten. Release Saddam now! Apologize to the world and let peace and love reign once again throughout the land.

Peace and love to all.

She will be sent to a re-education camp and if she's deemed cured she'll be allowed to write for the MSM again.

Miller's sad tale is just another plank in the revisionism that's going on. In a few years, the MSM and the Dems will have everyone thinking that the only people who ever believed Saddam had WMDs were George Bush and Judith Miller.

Sounds as if Miller is attempting to sway Libby jury before trial or at the very least, keep as much do-do off as she can before giving testimony.

I can hardly wait to see various members with hands raised swearing to "tell the truth, the whole truth, so help me (filling in the god of their choice.)

I hate to keep repeating myself, but they couldn't find Eric Rudolph in South Carolina (considerable smaller and less hostile than Iraq) for 6 years!

This stuff will turn up and when it does, it will be like the Venona Papers to a long deceased McCarthy. VINDICATION.

Man I hear crap like this every day - first thing when I wake up and listen to Imus's delusional rantings (still can be a pretty good show despite it all) and then via email debates with a guy at work.

Imus says we should tell Saddam we're sorry about his kids and give him back the "keys to his country". He thinks he's being "funny" but you can tell he half believes it.

This guy at work who grew up idolizing Goldwater, now believes all the crap about "Bush Lied People Died" and that "Saddam was no threat".

Finally today I told him I was done debating with him - he concedes all of your points and then goes right back to the liberal idiocy.

And she couldn't even go with her hubby on that Mediterranean cruise because the awful Bush Justice Department had her behind bars!

Does she know what part of her stories she's apologizing for? I mean, she couldn't have been completely wrong.

The Soviet Union lives on through the (former) writers at the NY Times. That means that the appropriate word for what Miller is doing is -- recanting.

Have you heard that Miss Miller's recanting?
Her excuse is far less than enchanting.
"I've done readers wrong."
"Now I'm moving along."
"Please forgive my despicable ranting."
