Kennedy Appointment is Outrageous
California Republican Assembly ^ | 11-30-2005 | Mike Spence, President of the California Republican Assembly

Posted on 11/30/2005 6:12:08 PM PST by Amerigomag

The appointment of Susan Kennedy as Chief of Staff to the Governor is a betrayal of the hard working activists that supported the Governor during the recent special election. Kennedy has a track record as an active partisan Democrat that has worked contrary to Republican candidates and beliefs.

Those of us who supported the recall of Gray Davis now find one of his top operatives, Susan Kennedy as the leader of Schwarzenegger staff. Not only did she work for Davis, but Kennedy is plagued by her involvement in the Oracle scandal.

This is a dangerous false start for the Governor, not a fresh start.

The California Republican Assembly Board of Directors will be voting on a resolution calling for the California Republican Party's withdrawal of their pre-primary endorsement of the Governor.

Haha.

I’m calling for withdrawal of support from the California-Republican-anything.

It’s what they DESERVE.

Yeah, yeah – “then we’ll get Bustamante.” Grow a set then get back with me.

That is all, IMO.

High time. Maybe Arnold will run as a Democrat, ala Earl Warren. It would fit his politics a lot more closely.

What will our RINOs do then? Maybe they can explain all this strategery for us.

I think Arnold learned the wrong lesson from the special election defeat. He thinks he just needs to "understand the Dems better". I think he just can't really believe what enemies to CA the Dems really are. Apparently he thinks this woman can help him deal with the Dems, when in fact she will stab him in the back and sell him out to the Dems. I agree, this was a major mistake. I think he was unhappy with his current Chief of Staff for not having been enough help in the special election, and he came to the wrong conclusion, that a Dem activist would be of help.

Mr. Schwarzenegger said his the new chief of staff knows how the levers of power work in the capital. "She is a leader with incredible institutional knowledge about state government and a deep understanding of the public policy process," he said in a statement.

Do you know if Arnold explained this appointment? I realize that he is working with Bush, Fox, and Halliburton to destroy America, but this doesn`t compute

I need to know more about her. Caught a small portion of Tom Sullivan's show this afternoon discussing this very topic. Apparently Ms. Kennedy was instrumental in the restructuring of workman's comp in CA, and worked very effectively with Schwarzenegger to get this accomplished. She may not be the "ringer" we think she is.

Who works for who?

I have been hired by Liberals, understanding they are the boss, and I was not. Simple, just do your job. I don't see why this is a big deal, talent is where you find it.

What would the outcry be if "black" "gay" "Jew" or Heaven forbid a "Straight Heterosexual White Male" were the criteria that had to be met.

Leaders have to lead, granted the VOTERS didn't come through in California, which is why I still prefer France over California, (France hasn't pissed me off for about a year now, California pisses me off weekly).

He thinks he just needs to "understand the Dems better".

Nonsense, he married into the most prominent Democrat family in the country. Of course, that just might say a LOT about either his intelligence or his ability to learn, until you realize that all he really cares about is power by which to feed his ego. All that crap about Milton Friedman was just posturing to get Republicans to fall for his BS, just like you did.

The Slave Party knows all about power, and will do ANYTHING to wield it, just like Arnold will. You see? They have something in common.

I think he just can't really believe what enemies to CA the Dems really are.

For the thousandth time, HE DOESN'T CARE WHO HE KISSES UP TO AS LONG AS THE RESULTS FEED HIS EGO.

You really don't have a clue about the Grovelnator.

Just goes to show that you should never trust a WWF rastler to inhabit the governor's mansion......

Wait, that was the other goofball governor from Minniesota, wasn't it?

Only in America is all of this possible???????

I just found an article with more about her, Wilson says she is OK, and also pro-business, but there are also serious negatives.

See this article, with some additional info, than in other articles:

Schwarzenegger replaces chief of staff with Democratic activist

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/11/30/state/n141540S25.DTL

But the fact that she was executive director of the CA Dem party is not encouraging.

"She also has crafted a pro-business image that aligns well with Schwarzenegger's goals to strengthen the state's economy and reform its budget process. In a statement, the California Chamber of Commerce said it had "the highest respect" for Kennedy and noted her efforts to improve the state's economy."

But then she was involved in the Davis scandal of taking money from Oracle.

I think it was a mistake on Arnold's part -- not a fatal one, but it wasn't his best decision todate.

Arnold is not doing it for power. He is totally sincere in wanting to reform CA.

He is smart in business, that's how he accumulated his wealth, but he is naive, in believing that every person, even Democrats, have some good, redeaming qualities.

i hoped he would have learned what Dems are all about at this last election.

Mr. In-the-MTBE-pocket-of-ARCO and signer-of-bogus-crooked-electrical-deregulation himself, Pete Wilson, says Kennedy is "pro-business"?

Just keep digging FO.

Nope, she is not a relative, this is all part of Arhhhnold's plan to suck up to the Dems after he lost the elections of his initiatives. What a putz, he sure turned out to be a girly man and I wouldn't be surprised if he granted life to good old Tookie.

Arnold's latest colossal blunder could end up having positive repercussions. It could be just the thing to help keep the Republican caucus united against the inevitable Democrat tax-hike proposals. Whereas I had once feared that he might be able to smoothe-talk the necessary handful of Republicans (Keith Richman and that crowd) into voting with the Democrats for their tax hikes, Arnold's currency just took a nose dive.

Let the Democrats nominate him. Now THAT almost looks inevitable.
