I hope the President engages in a dialog with the American people now.

Yes. He should be well rested after taking vacation for the entire first year of his second term.

Pardon my pedantic post. :) (Wiki warning.)

This is idiotic. The MSM and their fellow Democrats are turning the public into a bunch of defeatists. We're not fighting Soviet hoardes here, people. Israel has survived 40 years of terrorist attacks. We're fighting a small group of nutcases with extremely limited resources.

This is a case of the MSM (CNX) hurrying to issue a poll before the public has a chance to read or even hear about the plan in written form.

People don't have a comprehensive knowledge of the war on terror and the sideshow Iraq plays as a theater against the militant wing of the Islamic fight for domination. I do believe that true democracy in any country with a Muslim majority will only open a legitimate door for Islamic fascism, as we saw in Algeria and are now seeing attempted in Egypt. The real war is with the Muslim Brotherhood and its various global institutions. This theater of the war is being fought on paper with power and influence, not bullets. This all seems very reminiscent of the nazi party's lead up to the war, except they had a much smaller following. The question is, will our governments take the painful steps and remove the heart of the problem or will they continue chipping at the sides.

The only surprise here is that Bush garnered 44 percent positive vote. CNN must be slipping. They didn't get enough DemocRAT responses.

Jeannie Most is a woman reporter for CNN. She usually does funny stories. I guess this is in keeping with her "funny" stories. She does man on the street stuff in New York City.

Asked about Bush's handling of the Iraq war, 54 percent said it was poor,

Considering that 60% think that the economy is poor this is about right. But don't worry the RATS have a plan™ that will make terrorists love us, make 2% unemployment and send the stock market over 20,000.

there isn't going to be a "victory" in this war in the sense of signing a surrender document on a battleship someplace. so what is going to turn public opinion positive? to be honest, what this poll tells me is that only one thing will turn it - troop reductions. when americans start seeing some troop reductions, these polls will turn. and that is exactly what is going to happen, and its a good thing. this is why you see all the Dems posturing to spin the troop reductions which they know are coming in 2006, as "their plan". they will try and claim that their blabberings resulted in those troop reductions, and will try to spin conservatives into viewing the troop reductions as "cut and run" "Bush caves to the Dems". that is the political challenge for the white house for 2006 - explaining what is happening as troop reductions are made.

Most of these polls are crappola... I believe the majority of Americans are only angry at all of the hype from the beginning... "collateral damage", puke Amanpour, remember that ??? Or the torturing of these animals. Yeah, like we film beheadings, etc. Let us pray we level the damn area, and include Iran, Syria, Saudia Arabia, and whomever else screws with the US. Enough is enough... The media is bought and paid for by anti-American politician communists.
