The Navy intercepted and destroyed a warhead as it separated from its booster rocket during a test Thursday off Hawaii -- the first time a ship at sea has shot down a multi-stage missile.

Major kudos to the President for standing firm on SDI. This is a critical effort in the defense of the United States.
Just found the article buried by the msm on a military site, notice it was on Nov. 17 not today. I hate how they bury good news. It burns me up to no end.
Viva Bush !
Man alive! I just love the hardware our military has at their disposal! :-)
"The Navy intercepted and destroyed a warhead as it separated from its booster rocket during a test Thursday"
Now if Navy can only stop Army on Saturday!!!!
Go Army! Beat Navy.
Thank you President Reagan!
To quote Bill Maher....
"...it doesn't work!"
Suck it, Maher.
I love pics like that.
I see the writer's driven on I-10 late at night...
LOL!
I see the writer's driven on I-10 late at night...
...or maybe driven down Parley's Canyon on I-80 going into Salt Lake City.
I'm becoming more convinced that a significant percentage of truck drivers are mental institution escapees.
Shudder ... you completely one-upped me on that one!
I propose a test. If Bill Maher doesn't think it SDI works, why doesn't he pony up the $$$ for a solo ride on a Soyuz mission, then have the Navy launch a SM-3 missile at it. If Bill is right, he's got nuttin' to worry about!

The SM-3 is the most successful of the SDI efforts, by far. The airborne laser effort is struggling under all the new tech being developed, where the SM-3 uses proven hardware as leverage. Very quietly succeeding, and the MSM hates to report that. Failures are much more sexy to the scum.............
Didn't you mean, "AWWW CLAP".
"AWWW CRAP!"
"One more technology we're going to have to steal! Get someone on it right away."
The midcourse interceptors deployed at Fort Greeley have hyperbolic velocity, in excess of 12,000 meters (about 40,000 feet) per second. If they miss, they leave the Earth and go into orbit around the Sun, they become Earth Crossing Objects.
He's still 'payin dividends... God how we need him now.
I really should have put, "AWWW CWAP! I'm so ronnry!"
I dunno about you, but that picture doesn't make me ronnry at all. I'm thinking belly girl.

"That's nothing. I shot 11 rockets down with one bullet".
That's like asking BABs, Alec Baldwin et al to move to France if Bush wins re-election.
Don't get mad, get even by posting all the stuff they bury here at FR! The internet is steadily driving those clowns out of business.
More accurately I should have said: Get even by posting at FR all the stuff the MSM tries to bury.
The leftist scum of America (aka The Liberals) have been saying for decades that missle defense is "like trying to hit a bullet with a bullet".
Yeah, so? Hitting a bullet with a bullet. That's an engineering problem, not some kind of deep mystery of the universe. What is the speed of a bullet (or a missle)? What is that speed when expressed as a fraction of the speed of light (the guiding laser beam) or as a fraction of the speed of microchip processing (the guiding missle's software)?
Of course it's not easy. No difficult engineering problem (by definition) is. But then, the leftist scum of America (aka The Liberals) would always rather cut & run than solve a difficult problem.
