I'm even more of an old fart. I resisted getting a cell phone for years, and only relented when I realized it'd be handy in a car accident. Even then, I practically never use it. It's called "personal space and time" and I treasure that!
I still laugh when I see the 20-somethings walking around the street talking on their headset devices like some schizophrenic panhandler conducting dialogues with people that noone else can see.

Same for me here. I have one of those cheepo disposable cell phones in my car for emergencies. You can't put a price on "being out of reach"
