In 1976, my wife's 21 year old cousin (4'11" and 100 lbs) did, in fact, use a .45 M-1911 to shoot and kill a would-be rapist who had broken into her apartment. The man, later identified as the perp in 7 previous rapes, knocked the door down, confronted her in the bedroom and announced his intentions. She pointed the big pistol at him. He laughed and said, "You wouldn't shoot me, you little ****."
They were his last words, the first shot him in the throat, the second in the forehead. Either would have been fatal, the second instantly so. Under Texas law, she was required to appear before the grand jury. A local attorney represented her pro bono and it was an open and shut no bill. She says she has only one regret, that he didn't select her as his first victim rather his eighth.
Obligatory "God Bless Texas"
:-D
That story, like the one posted, is amazing! Women instictively know to defend themselves with violence, but like men, they can have that instict "educated" out of them.
Reminds me of a rather feisty young lass I once dated. She told me that she once got sexually harassing telephone calls from a guy who told her he "wanted to get into her pants". She replied, "Why, did you s**t in yours". He never called back. Lucky for him. She was a good shot.
