the problem is simle- lack of advertising0- they had a press release and a lot of free publicitiy at first, and then nothing.

I think it is an amazing invention- and seeing commercials on TV once in a while might just get me to buy one- I have completely forgotten about them until this article today.

Same here - I saw my very first Segway in use by someone just this weekend - the man was a vendor at a gun show. He had a long display table at the show and used the Segway to zip back and forth waiting on customers. Until then I had only seen them on TV. They definitely haven't done a very good job marketing them beyond the initial hooplah when the Segway was introduced.
