Christmas puts me into a baking mood.

When I get into a baking mood, everybody is happy.

I just pulled a pan of caramel pecan buns out of the oven.

%-6There is nothing Jewish in it and I wouldn%-6t mind another name, but I think that it would be better to educate Muslims to respect the culture of the majority in Denmark, if they want the majority to respect their culture".

This rabbi is far more of a gentleman than I could be in his situation.

Most Jews don't keep Kosher, so the fact that the cookies aren't isn't an impediment either.

If Jewish cookies are so popular, why all of a sudden are sales down from - what - last year? Unless the muSlums all of a sudden populated the place in the last 12 months, what's the problem?

They really wouldn't like my Jewish Freeper cookies, baked in Hellfire and shaped like an AH-64 Apache.

I am the same, did this Sunday:

Dad's Cinnamon Buns - Enhanced by Me.

Dissolve one package granular quick rise yeast, stirring with a fork, in 1/3 cup water (110-115 degrees, just a bit warmer than warm). Scald two cups of milk, and then stir in 1/4 butter, 4 tablespoons sugar, and 1 tablespoon salt. Cool the mixture to lukewarm, mix into the dissolved yeast, and beat in two already beaten eggs. Add gradually 6-1/2 cups flour to make a soft manageable dough. You can pour the dough onto a lightly floured counter before the last cup is actually mixed in, then knead the dough with an additional 1/2 cup of flour until it is smooth and not sticky. Put it in a bowl or leave it on the counter covered with a bath towel (because it's extra insulated as opposed to a thin tea towel), but make sure it's in a warm place-like over the dishwasher (and run a load) or over an under the counter hot water heater. Let it rise until it's doubled, about 2 hours.

Roll the dough into a 1/4 inch-thick rectangle. Using a brush, spread the sheet of dough with 1/2 stick of softened butter. Sprinkle with a thick mix of brown sugar and cinnamon. (You can make your own dark brown sugar using 2 tablespoons of molasses to a cup of sugar.) Roll up the sheet and cut into 2 inch-thick slices. Gently roll the slices on the counter to re-form into circles if they get lopsided. Put the rolls on a buttered baking sheet, and if you need to separate the rings a bit, do so with a knife. Cover and let rise another 30 minutes or until doubled. Then, sprinkle the tops with more of the cinnamon sugar mixture and brush each entire roll with softened butter and bake in a hot 400 degree oven for 20 minutes, or until they are lightly browned. Brush again with melted butter when the rolls come out of the oven. Drizzle (or cover!) with a glaze made from powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk... don't know the measurements, I just pour the sugar in a bowl, pour a tablespoon or two of vanilla in, and then add milk 'til it's a good consistency.

Muslim refusal to buy the cookies could have an effect on sales

I checked three times to verify this was not the work of Scrappleface. Supposedly it's the work of Yigal Romm .... and I don't doubt that it is .... but I really do suspect that Yigal is a fledgling Danish Scrappleface who is reading these posts and ROTFLHAO.

I'm still trying to figure out if his name is Yigal, Yiggal, Yig'al, or Yig`al. I think of the lot Yig'al ("may He redeem") is most likely.

"Denmark’s offensive Jewish cookies [Christmas cookies, Jewish name, Muslims upset]"

What religion do they think Jesus followed anyway, Islam?

Oh right. They do think that.

Well, ya know, Jesus and God spoke about Satan trying to deceive the righteous with lying words and trickery of all sorts.

Behold, Muhammad and the muslims.

There's cookies in Guatemala called marranos (pigs), and a rice dish called morros y cristianos (Moors & Christians).

A group of Danish Muslims refuse to eat traditional “Jewish” cookies because they feel offended by the name.

Then don't eat the damn things!

This world has gone insane. Frankly I'm offended at Muslims and the entire religion of Islam that calls me an infidel!

I'll call them infidels. I'd bet they're damn offended.

My recipe is similar to yours except--substitute apple juice for the milk in the dough.

Caramel layer: Melt 1/2 stick of margarine and 1/2 c. of brown sugar, and 1/3 c. corn syrup and pour in the bottom of the pan, and spread with pecan halves. Put the rolled dough slices on the caramel layer.

I'm going to have one right now!

If offensive things must be removed than I say lets remove today's NAZIS -- islam

I am offended by Islam. A death cult that is a cancer on the human race. Any chance we can remove this evil from the USA?

When your focus is to keep mad men happy, sanity is the causality. When that madman is psychopathic, the appeaser is also listed in the casualties.

If you are a Muslim, on an island in the middle of no where, hungry, and the only fish you caught in 3 days was a Jew fish, would you eat it?

I dunno. Let's find out!
