Not surprisingly, "Good Night and Good Luck" was a complete bomb at the theaters. Nobody except for a dwindling number of aging lefties really cares about that stuff anymore.

Joe McCarthy did a great service to the citizens of the United States. The only ones who are riled at his attacks on the Communist are Communist. Read William F. Buckley Jr's book "The Redhunter" it is a great book about the life of Joe McCarthy.

The anti-American Communist press in the United States keeps alive the denigration of Senator McCarthy because he was after their brothers and sisters in the Communist party.

McCarthy...youngest judge to serve in his state, left that and served in the US Marines in WWII with distinction, got in there against the advice of everyone, thought it was a bad idea for America's avowed enemies to have access to our government jobs or military jobs...sacrificed his reputation, his sobriety and eventually his life in an effort to expose the problem of Communists in the government...hated by liberals...hated by communists...hated by Hollywood...

Okay. I'm going with McCarthy.

Yeah, demographics play into the movie's failure. But so, I suspect, does its obvious bias. And most importantly, so does the fact that most of what McCarthy charged has been proven true over the course of time.

Nothing damages a liberal's crusade like truth.

It was really low budget though ($7 million) ...it still made 200% profit before advertising costs.

Doesn't really sound like a DVD movie either, so they'll probably lose money on this one.

McCarthy was far and away his own worst enemy, and the bad name some of his tactics gave anti-communism have been a huge cross to bear for conservatives. I think conservatism and the country would have been much better off if he'd never existed.

We are in dire need of a man like that again today.

What passes for liberals in the democratic party today are nothing more than communists. And, they are also prevailing in Hollywood.

The communist party used to be heard loudly and clearly in the past. They no longer need to be heard independently as communists. They have taken on a different identity. They are now the liberal wing of the democratic party.

The 1950s all over again.

I heard some critics say that the movie will probably be nominated for an oscar or two. And, being that the liberal crowd in Hollywood like Cloony's brand of politics, he'll probably get an oscar.

Between my channel selection and my Tivo I must have missed the commercials - I mainly just saw "news stories" about the film.
