One problem though: by the time you get to the store you'll forget you were going to buy pomegranate juice! Can't win!

I have read previous articles detailing cancer preventing abilities of pomegranate.
The ancient people's of crete were obsessed with the stuff, farmers had to bring the king huge jars of it each year.

I saw pomegranate juice in the grocery store the other day, but I had forgotten why I was supposed to buy it. (It could be too late for me.) ;[

Good, I sell it by the 2 liter cheaper than anyone in town. They sell it at Ralphs and Trader Joes and its expensive as hell. Then you go down to Wholesome Choice (Middle Eastern store) and you can buy it by the pail much cheaper.
Only use I ever had for a pomegranate was throwing it. They grew around our house but nobody ever ate them or did anything with them. We used to play war and use them as hand grenades and throw them around.

"I saw pomegranate juice in the grocery store the other day, but I had forgotten why I was supposed to buy it. (It could be too late for me.) ;[" Try to remember to eat curry. I've read that the tumeric in it is good of Alzheimer's and Avian Flu too.

After some experimentation I found that the best juicer for a pomegranate is a garlic press. Remove the seeds and press in small batches, removing the filter gunk between squeezes. Time consuming but yields and excellent product.

"They grew around our house but nobody ever ate them or did anything with them. We used to play war and use them as hand grenades and throw them around." We did the same thing around here with Tung Oil Fruit
Farmers were encouraged to plant them for substitute oil for WW2. The war was over before these were ever producing. I know where only one tree is today.

Them things are hard to extact juice from.....my wife bought one because she wanted to try something exotic and to my mind the thing looked hideous when it was cut open...we both wondered what the hell you do with something like that and I went to Google and asked and got 6-7 pages of how you dissect the damn things and all the crap you have to do to get to whatever was so good.
Now, you're telling me you can buy the stuff in a bottle? Where, what, etc.?

You got it! Wifey and I wanted to try some, but a quart was like the price of Jim Beam, so I settled on the swill.
Pomegranates are great fun, but they're what I call "bath tub food"....so messy, you might as well get nekkid and do the peel-and-eat thing in the tub.
